Golden
Radars meet
The Golden Radar Club
held its regular meeting
in the Town Hall on
Wednesday evening May
2. President Mary Grigg
opened the meeting by
reading a poem, "Lost",
the singing of our
national anthem and
repeating in unison The
Lord's Prayer. All
reports were read and
approved. Forty-eight
members answered roll
call by telling their
mother's maiden name.
A letter from the
Hospital Auxiliary in-
vited everyone to visit the
hospital on Hospital Day,
May 9 from 2 - 4 p.m. to
visit patients, view
equipment and enjoy
afternoon tea in the board
room. Everyone is
welcome also to attend
the Auxiliary meetings
the first Monday of each
month except July and
August at 10 a.m.
The club bus tour will
be on June 13, leaving
Clinton Town Hall at 8
a.m. shopping at Kit-
chener's Farmers'
Market, hot and cold
buffet at -Elmira at noon,
a guided tour of Elmira
and Mennonite country
after lunch, returning
home about 5 p.m. The
cost is' $17.50 per person.
Some seats are still
available, so if interested
phone the president. All
money should be paid to
the treasurer at or before
the next meeting May 16.
After discussion, it was
decided that the Golden
Radar Club will host the
Zone 8 fall rally in
October at the Legion
Hall. George Rumball,

the U.S.C.O. Convention
in Kingston, August 14
and 15.

Jean McEwen then
conducted a variety of
games and contests
which produced a lot of
hilarity and much good
entertainment.
The high score winners
of the progressive euchre
games were Ida Gpdkin
and JeanMcEwen and
the low score winners
were Mary Wallis and
Grace White. -A lovely
lunch was then served by
the committee in charge.
Each man present
drew a facial silhouette of
the man he wants for
Prime Minister. George
Rumball, Ed Godkin and
Ernie Dale were chosen
as best artists.
Clinton lady
dies
Ferne A. Carter
A Clinton native, Ferne
A. Carter died in St.
Marys Memorial
Hospital on May 4. She
was in her 47th year.
Mrs. Carter was born in
Clinton to ' the late
Clarence Potter and
Edna Powell. She
married in 1955 to
Carter.
She was an active
woman in the com-
munity, working as
secretary at the Holy
Name of Mary's Public
School in St. Marys and
was a charter president
of the St. Marys Kinette
Club.
Mrs. Carter is survived
by her husband and one
daughter, Mrs. Peggy
Louise (Robert) Mills of
St. Marys. She is also
survived by one grand-
daughter; three
brothers, Frank of RR 3,
Clinton, Joseph of RR 3,
Clinton, Ray of Clinton
and two sisters, Mrs.
Betty (Thomas) Moore of
RR 4, Goderich and Mrs.
Willa (Thomas) Rathwell
of RR 5, Clinton. She was
predeceased by two sons,
John and Craig.
Funeral services were
held at the Ball Funeral
Home in Clinton on May
7. Interment followed at
the Clinton Cemetery.
The pallbearers in-
cluded, Douglas
Haycock, Rob Taylor,
Bill Speariti, John
Ruppel, Bob Doupe and
