School has busy week
Education Week was a
busy one at the Vanastra
Public School. On
Monday a dress
rehearsal was held in the
auditorium. All of our
pupils were able to see
the Spring Concert.
On Tuesday,
Egyptian artifact display
from the Royal Ontario
Museum was set up in the
hall. The children were
really interested in this.
The artifacts were then
moved to some of the
Junior classrooms for
more in-depth study.
Our Spring concert was
presented Tuesday
evening. The auditorium
was filled to capacity. It
wasgood to see so many
parents attend the first
production on our new
portable stage. Every
child in the school was
able to take part in this
one hour production. In
fact many pupils Were
involved in more than
three different activities.
A great deal of produc-
tion responsibility was
placed "on the
shoulders" of our pupils.
The Mistress of
Ceremonies was Pam
Brownridge and Monty
Kelly was responsible for
sound effects. Dennis
Mclsaac and Cemal
Unsal were our floor
crew. The backstage
crew varied from number
to number.
A varied program was
presented. It consisted of
songs in English and
French, dances, plays,
choral selections, a
gymnastics display as
well as a demonstration
of our daily rhythmics
program. A good time
was had by all.
On Friday, the school
was closed. The teachers

What happens on
Development Day
by Karen Lehnen
When school is closed,
what do teachers do on
Professional Develop-
ment Day? On Friday,
April 27, I found out as I
attended the P.D. Day at
Exeter High School. It
was a very informative
day.
One of the teachers
pointed out that, as
they're primarily alone
with a class of students
daily, these P.D. Days
are important to them.
The theme of the day was
"moral values
education". Mr. Don
Santor from London,
Moral Education . con-
sultant, discussed the
concept that the school
should reinforce the
values education , taught
to the child at home. On
the theme of "moral
values education", what
qualities do we, as
parents, admire in our
children?

Blaupunkt.
After you've heard it,
there's only one decision left:
which model?
You can go all the way - to the top•of the•ilne Bertin Electronic. Or get the best
AMS FM ;17und on the road for an attractive price You know what you can afford But what
you can't afford is to compromise on the quality of the sound To settle for so so
stereo when theres superb Blaupunkt mono at the same price Or less than perfect FM
when great AM costs about the same The most radio, the best possible sound for
your dollar -that's the Blaupunkt aim for every model they make. Here are some of them
