HARRY GREYDANUS • Spring wedding ' Early spring was the setting for the wedding of Eda Steegstra and Harry Greydanus who were united in marriage on March 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church inr Clinton. Candelabra with large dusty rose fugi, pink chyrsanthemums, red roses and white baby's breath decorated the church. The Reverend W.A. Ludwig of Goderich of- ficiated at the ceremony. Organist, Cris Guetter of Clinton played while soloist, Grace Dykstra of Exeter sang, "The Lord's Prayer" and "There is Love". The bride is the daughter of Mr: and Mrs. Peter Steegstra of Goderich and the groom is the son of Mrs. B. Greydanus of Clinton. The bride wore a gown of white quiana jersey knit featuring long straight lily point sleeves with covered buttons on the cuffs and from the back of the neck down to the waist. The sleeves were trimmed with lace from the top of the elbow to the point. The capulet and bodice were -rounded set in appliques of Belgium lace with tiny seeded pearls and sequins. The mandarin neckline, empire waist, long gentle skirt with attached chapel train and pure silk illusion cathedral veil were all trimmed with matching Belgium lace. Matron of honor was Jo Anne Verhoef of Varna. She wore a one piece dress with long sweeping pleated skirt in a shiny triacitate dusty rose material. The half length sleeves were split from the shoulder to the elbow. She wore a dusty rose carnation in her hair and carried a bouquet of dusty rose, pink, and white carnations, red miniature roses and white baby's breath. Bridesmaids were Teresa Steegstra of Kitchener and Janet Steegstra of Goderich, sisters of the bride. They were gowned the same as the matron of honor and carried the same bouquets. . Flowergirl was Angela Postma of Clinton, niece of the bride. She wore a long white jersey knit gown with long sleeves and attached cape trimmed with dusty rose velvet and white lace. Groomsman was Rick Schilbe of Kitchener, friend of the groom. Guests were ushered into the churbh by Jerry Steegstra ofKitchener, brother of the bride and, Jake. Greydanus of London, brother of the groom. Ring bearer was James Dykstra of Thornton, nephew of the groom. He carried a white jersey knit pillow trimmed with matching dusty rose velvet ribbon and white lace. Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the White Carnation in Holmesville where the guests and bridal party were en- tertained by the Hop - man's Brothers of Chatham. Guests were present from Niagara Falls, Toronto, London,. Kit- chener, Barrie, Watford, Sarnia, Petrolia, Stratford and surroun- ding areas. Prior to the wedding, the bride was showered with gifts from the ladies - of the Christian Refor- med Church in Goderich and at the home of the matron of honor and also at the home of Jane Chisholm of Dungannon, friend of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Greydanus will reside at R.R. 2 Goderich. By concerned citizens Concerned citizens from all parts of Huron County met recently in the First Baptist Church, Clinton. Huron Secondary School, 165 Princess Street, Clinton, Ontario; the date and time are Thursday, May 3 .beginning at 8 p.m.; and the guest speaker is Reverend Ken Campbell of Milton, Founder and President of Renaissance Inter - Baptists enjoy concert A very enjoyable time was spent at the First Baptist church here Sunday evening April 29. The church was full when people from Goderich, Auburn and Clinton and district attended. A Dies in Wingham Mrs. J. Charles Robinson of 155 Shuter Street, Wingham, passed away Friday, April 20, at the Wingham and District Hospital in her 87th year. Mrs. Robinson was born in East Wawanosh and was the former Katherine Mary (Kate) McClinchey. Her parents were the late John and Julia McClinchey. She married Mr. Robinson in Milverton on March 30, 1915, and they resided at RR 2, Auburn, until 1950 when they moved to Wingham. He died on April 27, 1958. Mrs. Robinson was a life member of the Donnybrook Women's Missionary Society and a member of the Wingham United Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Jean) Dainty of Petawawa and Mrs. Douglas (Irene) Williams, London; two sons, Gordon of Wingham and Edward, RR 2, Auburn; 13 grand- children and eight great grandchildren. There are two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Esther) Potter, Parkhill, and Mrs. Charles (Iona) Jefferson, Clinton; and two brothers`; Gordon McClinchey of Blyth and Sydney McClinchey, RR 1, Auburn. She was predeceased by three brothers, Henry, David and Wesley. The late Mrs. Robinson rested at the Currie - Walker Funeral Home until April 23 when ser- vice was conducted by Author dies Funeral services were held in Seaforth on Monday for Huron County historian and author James Scott of Seaforth, who died Friday in a Guelph hospital. Scott, 63, author of The Settlement of Huron County, was former assistant to, the president of the University or Waterloo. At one time, he also taught creative writing at' the University of Western Ontario and was a member of the English department at the University of Saskatchewan. He also was literary editor for the Toronto Telegram and author of scripts for the CBC. Pallbearers were six nephews, Wesley Jef- ferson, James Potter, Norman McClinchey, Harold McClinchey, James Maclntosh and Lorne Huey. Floral tributes were carried by Ted Mills and Bert Mathers. special musical service consisting of hymn singing, choruses, "A Noah's Ark Musical" conducted by Clinton Bible Club and a puppet show by the First Baptist Church, Goderich and Bible Club followed by solos, duet, scripture reading and prayer. A number of musical numbers by Pastor E. Anderson, his wife Phyllis and daughters Kathy and Marianne was really enjoyed. Another service is planned later in the year. A short fellowship followed when tea and cookies were served national!. His speech, "A Public School System enthusiastically sup- ported by a Free and Pluralistic Society", will deal with the challenges facing the government educational system in Ontario, and propose the changes that will lead to a system that dynamically serves parents, satisfies teachers, taxpayers and prepares our youth for a life of creative service. Ken Campbell will be on the hot -seat in a bear pit session following his speech as microphones will be set up on the floor for a question and answer period. Following the monthly meeting, flyers ad- vertising the up -coming public meeting were handed out to members present from the dif- ferent areas, namely, Clinton, Ripley, Dungannon, Bayfield, Exeter, Kingsbridge, Auburn, Blyth, Lucknow, Holmesville, Westfield and Goderich and will be put on display in these areas.
