Payne A successful Beef Barbecue was held at Hensall United Church on Wednesday, April 25. In three sittings, over 500 people were served a sumptuous meal of beef, vegetables, salads and mouth-watering pie of their choice. The money raised will go towards various projects of the United Church Women of Hensall. Farewell service Farewell services were held for the Rev. Garnett Husser and Mrs. Husser on Sunday, April 29 by both Chiselhurst and Hensall congregations. Rev. Husser conducted the services and spoke on "And Finally Brethen". He spoke on the final words of prominent people in the Bible - Moses proclaimed the Name of the Lord, David exhorted the people to hold fast to the vision of the future with God; Paul proclaimed rejoice ever more and Jesus sent His followers to go into all the world and preach the gospel. Following the service, a reception was held in the Fellowship Hall when Rev. Husser. was presented with an antique clock and Mrs. Husser with some rocks for their rock collection. Mrs. Grace Drummond made the presentation speech. Floral arrangements in the church were from the Sararas-Mills wedding, also the cake was displayed. Spring flowers were placed in the church by the family of the late Mrs. Daisy Ivey. Induction of the o,ew minister to Hensall United Church will _take place ' on Wednesday, May 15 when Rev. Stanley MacDonald, previously of Lon- desboro, will take over the ministry. The Hensall Women's Institute will hold their May meeting on Wed- nesday, May 9 at the United Church. This will be grandmother's meeting and the speaker will be Mrs. Margaret Burkhart of Wingham. Sales barn Prices were stronger at the Hensall Livestock Sales last week with active demand; supply consisted mainly of heifers and steers. Fat cattle; steers, $79.50- $86.50, top to $88; heifers, $78-$86.50, top to $89.50. Pigs, $32-$50.25. Obituary IVEY. In South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Tuesday, April 24, 1979 Constance Daisy Ivey, wife of the late Charles Ivey died in her 92nd year. She is survived by one son Desmond Patrick Ivey of Sarnia, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Private funeral service was held at the Bonthron Funeral Home, Hensall, on Wednesday April 25 at 2 p.m. Interment in Hensall Union Cemetery. No layoffs Norman Hayes, director of the Wingham hospital has assured the board of governors that there won't be any layoffs at the hospital this year. He explained that he had contacted the ministry of health and was promised funding to allow the hospital to restore and operate with 100 beds for at least another year. When asked about. the 3.5 per thousand bed ratio, Mr. Hayes com- mented, "I don't t ink we'll ever hear hat figure again." �..
