Stan McDonald back from his holiday. Greeting the wor- shippers were Jack Tamblyn and Harry Snell, both members of the session. The ushers were Chris Roberts, Donald Reid, Kevin Fothergill, Mark Mitchell and Larry Roberts. Rev. McDonald's theme was based on lent and he also gave the children's story. Mrs. Tom Duizer and Mrs. Harry Lear sang a duet with Mrs. Glenn McGregor at the organ. The junior teachers were Mrs. Jack Lee, Mrs. Brad Kennedy and Joan Mason. The kindergarten teachers were Mrs. Bruce Shillinglaw, while Karen Wright was in charge of the nursery. The congregation was reminded of the crokinole" party on March 21 and the skating party and pot luck supper on March 25. Berean Unit The Berean Unit of the UCW held their monthly meeting on March 7 at the home of Helen Lawson, who welcomed all and opened the meeting with readings. Roll call was answered by 12 members and two visitors, Verna Glazier and Florence Cartwright, who all told of a. person who had influenced their lives. Dora Shobbrook gave the devotions and the scripture was read, by Hattie Wood. Mrs. Shobbrook then read a/ .story on responsibility and a poem, followed by prayer and a hymn. The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Lawson. Mrs. Shobbrook, the secretary, read the minutesof the last meeting and the treasurer's report was given by Margaret Good. Correspondence, in cluded a thank -you note from Mrs. Agnes Skimmons, from the foster child, and an in- vitation from the Blyth UCW to atterild their Easter thank offering on April 8 at 8 p.m. Happy Birthday was sung for Margaret Whyte and Mrs. Lawson. The April 10 meeting will be held at the home of Addie Hunking with the devotions and study to be taken by Nona, Pipe and Ida Durnin. Isabel Air- "`drie will clean the church brass during April. The Berean members are to help with the pot luck supper at the church following the congregational skating party on March 25. Those who will help include Mrs. Lawson, Mrs. Wood, Mary Longman and Mrs. Shobbrook. All the members signed get well cards to be sent to Vi Burns and Edythe Beacom who are both` in the hospital. Alice Davidson gave a report on the executive meeting she attended at tthe home of Mrs. Keyes, in Varna. John and Nancy Paterson will show slides and talk on the work at the United Church Camp enesetung on April 10 in the Ontario Street United Church in Clinton at 8 p.m. Mrs. Shobbrook led in the study on human rights. She read an ac- count by George. Tuttle and the study of Indians takbh from the citizens' night. She also read the story of Dorinda Vollner, an Indian girl who became a minister. The meeting then ' closed and Mrs. Davidson 410 thanked Mrs. Lawson for having the meeting in her home and Mrs. Shob- brook for the study= Lunch was served by Addie Hunking and Mrs. Good.
