Wayne Good will be the speaker with representatives from all the church groups in the village taking part. Everyone is welcome. The community is pleased to report that Wilfred Plunkett was able to return home last week after several weeks as a patient in Clinton Public Hospital. Misses Christine, Rhonda and Jennifer Stadelmann of Blyth spent a few days last week with their grand- mother, Mrs. Eleanor Bradnock while their parents were at Callander ice -fishing. Reg Hamilton came home last Saturday after surgery in Clinton Hospital where he had been hospitalized for a few weeks. The Auburn Hor- ticultural Society is holding their March meeting in the hall on March 5at8p'.m.The Rev. Wayne Good of Blyth will show pictures of flowers and speak of flower culture. Everyone is welcome. The community is pleased to report that Mrs. Elsie Scott was able to return home last weekend after several weeks as a patient in Clinton Public Hospital. " Mrs. Glenn Youngblut of Ottawa returned home last Tuesday after visiting for several days with her mother-in-law, Mrs. Myrtle Munro. Mr. and Mrs. Donald You -ng attended the Ontario Plowman's annual convention at Toronto last week. On Wednesday and Thur- sday they attended the annual convention of the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies and also attended the retirement presentations for Mr. E. A. Starr who retired,, as secretary- treasurer- 1Sf ' both Associations. Donald is secretary -treasurer of District 8 for the Ontario Agricultural Society. Miss Rose -Marie Young has returned home from Clinton Public Hospital where she had §pent four days last week recovering from a broken leg. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Williams of Toronto spent the weekend with her brother, Mr. Donald Cartwright, Mts. Cart- wright, David, Derrick and Lorie. The needlepoint classes have begun and there is good response to this project. The second meeting will be held on Monday in the hall. Mrs. Haggitt was in -Charge of the meeting, which opened with the reading of the • hymn The scripture lesson, was read by Mrs. Thomas Lawlor. The topic on Martha from the Living Message was read by Mrs. Lillian Letherland. Other readings taken were: Mrs. Donald Cartwright, I Wonder; Mrs. Thomas Haggitt, God Speaks; and Mrs. Thomas Lawlor - Walker of the Field. President, Mrs. Donald Cartwright took charge of the business. The minutes were read in the absence of the secretary, Mrs. John Daer. The treasurer, Mrs. Thomas Haggitt, gave the financial statement. The roll call was answered by A Thought for Lent. Correspondence was read and Mrs. Cartwright gave a reading, God Goes on Strike. The offering was received and dedicated and the travelling apron was passed. The meeting was closed with grace and lunch was served by Mrs. Haggitt. The remainder of the afternoon was spent quilting.
