Most people, including many of their fans, said the
Clinton Junior "C" Mustangs just didn't have it this
year, and wouldn't even make the playoffs.
Well, for a while, things weren't very bright for the,
members of the Central Junior "C" tea" They were
orphaned from their own home, the Clinton arena -
closed for repairs most of the season; they were
plagued by injuries and sickness that put most of the
team members in bed during the vital stretch drive;
and even when they did finally get back to their home,
the local supporters had practically forgotten them.
But despite the crazy mixed up season, the boys
came through with flying colors and grabbed second
place in the league by winning the last three games of
the season.
Now, starting this Friday night at 8:30 p.m. the
Mustangs open the playoffs against Port Elgin and
Clinton's abilities and spirits are at the highest point
this season. The best of three series is the 'Stangs first
step in the long climb to hockey supremacy.
The News -Record, through the generosity of many
local merchants and businessmen, is proud to present
the players and executive of the 1978-79 Clinton
Mustangs. All join in wishing the Mustangs the bestof
luck in the playoffs, and hope their fans will return to
the arena for some exciting hockey action in the next
few weeks.
