SILVER COLLECTION
At the Legion
By Rene Brochu
Our Legion again was a
main focus of attention as
our activities continue to
prosper. Last Wednesday
afternoon we were
pleased to host the
Christian School
Christmas festivities.
The hall was filled to
capacity with pleased
and proud parents and
their children on yet
another festive occasion.
Our TGIF night last
Friday again was a
success as Comrade Bill
Chambers won the raffle
goodies. Our Comrade
Bob Campbell was not
fortunate as his name
was drawn for the at-
tendance draw, but alas,
Bob had not registered
during the past week. So
the pot grows and we
truly hope that it will be
won by someone prior, to
Christmas.
Our Ladies Auxiliary
was again busy last
Saturday evening as they
catered to the Public
Hospital employees
Christmas dinner.
• The " hospital staff put
on a series of expertly
acted skits, and to top it
off, our doctors and
administrator sang, in
well trained voices, a
series of songs with
words produced by the
Doctors themselves.
Really an excellent co-
operative display of union
workers and
management.
Our thanks to the
organizers of the evening,
our Ladies Auxiliary and
men who faithfully help
the ladies, to Milt
Schrieber for acting as
cocktail host, to Mary
and Percy Brown and
Fran and Ed Porter for
having tended to the
needs of the gathering
during the Dance.
Our Pipe and Drum
Band were hosted by the
Legion last Sunday
evening as they enjoyed
their christmas party. A
well deservedelaxation
for our Band as they
come to the end of
another successful year.
Last Monday evening,
while the men's executive
was having their monthly
meeting, the ladies
auxiliary were having a
meeting and christmas
party, an enjoyable
evening for the ladies as
they exchanged gifts and
treated themselves to a
wine and cheese party.
With• five of our
Comrades in hospital, let
us not, in the hustle and
bustle of the- season,
forget them in our
thoughts and prayers.
Smile
The first thing they
used to take at a hospital
was your pulse. Now it's
your insurance number.
