justice to the recipes
which were missed from
the cook book insert. And
thank -you once again to
all who took the time to
write out their favourites.
I have enough recipe
clippings at home to
paper my kitchen walls
with - but I just can't
resist cutting them out
and putting them aside to.

One of Hec Kingswell's saddest jobs in all his years
was leading the parade that closed the huge CFB
Clinton Base in August of 1971. Hec was honored
two weeks ago by the Clinton Legion, who presented
him with a life membership. Behind him is the last

Kingswell, kfe member
One of Clinton's better
known citizens, Hector
Kingswell, was honored
two weeks ago by Branch
140 of .the Canadian
Legion, when' he was
presented with a life
membership.
Hec, as he is better
known to his many
friends and acquain-
tances throughout the
area, was presented with
the honor at a special
ceremony from Zone
Commander George
Campbell of Clinton,
Clinton Le ion president
hh'i (
Jo"'°Seiple, and;
men)iersliip - chairman.
Bob Irwin.
Hec originally joined
the Legion in England in
1942, and on his return to
Canada in 1945, joined the
Goderich branch and
transferred to the Clinton
branch the next year,
where he has been a very
active member since.
Hec served ten years on
the executive of the
Clinton branch, where he
was property chairman
-longer than he wishes to
admit.
He was a long-time
member of the Ban-
nockburn` Pipe and Drum
band that later became
the Legion Pipe Band,
and served as pipe major
for much of his 25 year
membership.
He was president of the
Legion in 1951-52, and
also was chairman of the
Cenotaph committee
when the present
cenotaph was planned
and erected.
Hec, who is now in
failing health, was known
for a number. of other
volunteer duties in town,
besides his Legion duties.
A few of his other civic
duties included being a
volunteer fireman for
many years, and a
president and director of
the Clinton Community
Credit Union for many
years.
Clinton Branch 140 has
also presented life
memberships to all the
World War I veterans
many years ago.
