Convention. The cdOilerati've a representative each from the Maritimes, Quebec, the Western provinces, 0.F.A., Co- operator's Insurance, Credit Union, Co -Op Union of Canada and two persons appointed by the Cdn. Federation of. Agriculture. "We have to improve Conform, which includes simplifying it §o farmers can more easily utilize the system. and there are proposals for an im- proved marketing program to include franchising the service," said Hannam. The basic fee for the service would be about $75.00 with other charges being based on what services are used by the farm. • *.A. • The O.F.A. is cam - !pitted to'contribute up to. $25,000 toward the ven- ture. Eugene .Whelan,' Federal :Minister of Agriulture, has stated that the federal gover- nment will help with funding during the transition period. The new co-operative is expected to take over the service on January ist, 1979. The yearly fee for ISM • membership (Individual ServiceMembershp) will be increased to $50 with a $5 reduction for those on automatic renewal. This resolution was given strong support at the O.F.A. convention in Hamilton. The increasing demands by government and other - grOuPs for research statistics and advice on proposed legislation affecting farmers has heightened the workload, of O.F.A. The increased fee will help provide sufficient funding as well as supply revenue for continued activity by O.F.A. on behalf of farmers in Ontario. This fee increase will become effective in January 1979. EA. :189 CARO OF 2 $1.69 CARD OF 2 :2.09 CARD OF 2 $2.29 PRODUCE OF U.S.A. CANADA NO. 1 GRADE VINE -RIPENED TOMATOES PRODUCE OF U.S.A.
