The various com- mittees gave their reports and each member will invite a friend to the December meeting. Mrs. T. Brintnell gave the message from the Study Book on "Human Rights". Mrs. R. Taylor and Mrs. Rose Riley served refreshments. WMS meets The president, Mrs. Harvey Hyde, presided at the meeting of the WMS of Carmel Presbyterian Church on Monday evening and opened the Thanksgiving program with a poem. Mrs. Rochus Faber read the scripture and Mrs. Esther Wright presented three verses - "Autumn", "Happiness" and "You have to Believe in Happiness." Mrs. Malcom Dougall read a passage on "Leprosy" and two readings "What Gran- dmothers are Made Of" and "Mesothelium's Menu". Mrs. Bert Thompson gave a reading while Mrs. Hyde spoke on missionary work and church extension in the last few years. There were ten members who attended the meeting at Cromarty last week. Mrs. Hyde closed the meeting The Ladies' Aid meeting followed with the president Mrs. Volland presiding. A most suc- cessful bazaar was held on Saturday and matters of business were discussed. Evening Auxiliary entertains The Arnold Circle' Evening Auxiliary 'pleasantly entertained members from Exeter Presbyterian Church, Cromarty Presbyterian Lutheran and United Churches; Zurich, Seaforth Presbyterian Church, Chiselhurst Church and Senior WMS and Ladies' of the Church. Mrs. Don Volland presided and welcomed everyone and read a poem "An Autumn Harvest". Mrs. John Baker and Mrs. William Baker were in charge of the devotional on "The Use of our Hands" and "Thoughts About Our Hands". The devotional closed with responsive prayer. Mrs. Donna St. John was guest soloist and was accompanied at the organ by Mary Moffatt. The guest speaker of the evening Pastor Ivor Bodenham was in- troduced by Mrs. Robert Bell, who spoke of him as a "church builder" having been instrumental in building Bayfield Church in 1955 then to Exeter in 1961 and later at Lambeth. Pastor Bodenham spoke on "thanksgiving". His message was very in- teresting and left many worthwhile thoughts and challenges. Mrs. Pat Pollock thanked Pastor Bodenham. Miss Sylvia Bell favoured with vocal solos accompanying on the guitar and the meeting concluded with prayer and a social hour was spent in the school room when refreshments were served by the Arnold Circle.
