Just ask Dear Annie
Dear Annie:
Recently, my older
brother bought a new
stereo set. It's his pride
and joy and he lets no-one
within 10 feet of it. I
would like to use it but
every time I ask he gets
pretty nasty about it. The
one time I tried to use it
without asking him, he
nearly burst a blood
vessel. I wouldn't remain
safely in the same room
with him for a day af-
terwards. The worst
thing is that he keeps it in
our basement and I
always have my friends
down there. Actually the
word should be "used to"
rather than "always"
since, after the first time
I brought my friends in to
look at it, he practically
went into a fit and chased
us all out. It would help if
Mom and Dad would let
him keep it in his room,
but they think it's too loud
for upstairs. Is there any
way for me to keep my
sanity?
Signed: I've got blisters
on my eardrums!
Dear Blisters:
I'd just avoid him and
the stereo for now and
wait until he may be
willing to share. If he
really gets paranoid
J
about it, let your parents
know. But, for now, I'd
keep a low profile if I
were you.
Dear Annie:
Three days ago I broke
up' with my girlfriend for
good. I've really been
feeling bad about it and
she only ignores me when
I try to talk to her or see
her. You'd think we could
still be friends but that
doesn't seem to be how
things stand. Is there
anything I should do? —
Signed: Still Trying
Dear Trying:
I'd stop being so trying
and leave her alone if I
were you. If she still likes
you at all, she'd probably
feel better if you left her
alone and let her think
about It. Afterall, she
probably isn't kicking her
heels over breaking up,
either, and she may
appreciate a little
sympathy and un-
derstanding on your part.
Smile
The best thing about
getting older is that all
those things you couldn't
have when you were
young you no longer
want.
Big Brother's weekly report
Some really wierd and
wonderful things have
happened this week and
of course, my little
munchkins have been
where'the action is.
Apparently the senior
girls basketball team got
a real treat last Tuesday
before their game. W.T.
appeared live, on stage in
a short musical interlude
on the bass. What were
you trying to do Wimp,
warm up the players or
psych out your op-
ponents? Special mention
should be given to G.H.
for her assistance in the
production.
After D.C. made a boo-
boo in Mr. S's English
class, Mr. S. insisted that
she use his chainsaw to
commit suicide. He
claimed to have had it
fixed recently and gave
his class a demon-
stration. Honestly, R,
does that dinky thing
really cut wood?
The fastidious Mr. J.
was last seen cutting his
fingernails in homeroom
class. Really Mr. J., don't
