Maturity key to....
• from page l A
committing ourselves. As
well, allowance will have to
be made for the unexpected
and other influences which
may interfere with our
plans.
Each of us is the centre of
our own world and thus we
need to know ourselves as
adequately as possible. It
was important for our
maturity that we learn to
aocept ourselves as what we
are, without trying to be
what we are not. We should
take a look, once in a while,
to see how we are measuring
up in the context of our lives.
And as we continue to
• develop, we will grow in
wisdom. This is already the
ability to bring together a
freshly discovered fact and a
general principle that was
set in our memories long
ago.
Our education so far has
played a large part in
preparing us for • maturity
but it isn't something we can
simply have and be finished
with. At whateverstage of
life, we are, we will always
be students, for we will
always be confronted with a
complex series of new
situations for which our
formal education could
never prepare us.
