Clinton.
Shower held
A large crowed was at
the shower for Marilyn
Taylor, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Taylor.
Mrs. Mel Graham
welcomed the friends,
neighbours and relatives.
JoAnne Grunewald
entertained with guitar
music. Mary Gibson and
Nancy Taylor played
piano duets. A ukulele
group including Sally
Brodie, Clara Davidson
and Julie McBeath sang.
A recipe for "Marriage
Stew" was given by Jean
Taylor.
Diane called M,arilyn to
the front, followed by an
address to the bride!
Above the bride's chair
was decorated with bells,
streamers and a fancy
sprinkling can.
The gifts were wrapped
with much imagination
using "J" cloth, tea
towels, hand towels,
orange garbage bags or
newspaper decorated
with useful articles or
bouquets of flowers. A
small plastic umbrella
was decorated with bows
and flowers.
Marilyn thanked
,everyone and were in-
vited to come see the gifts
at the house.

Tailing leaves, mountain
ash, gourds, pumpkins
and squash for a shower
for Sharon Brodie,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Don Brodie. Jean Rath -
well acted as master of
ceremonies.
Mrs. Elsie Henderson
of Huronview entertained
with two numbers from
the piano. Mrs. Doris
McKinley accompanied a
ukulele ' group, as they
sang. The musical group
was composed of Jane
Allan, Melisa Moffat,
Clara Davidson, Julie
McBeath and Diane
Wilson. r.
A pantomime skit
performed by Marion Hill
and read by Joan Allan,
depicting the dilemmas
of a bachelor, was much
enjoyed by all. Mrs. Cliff
Henderson called Sharon
to the front and read the
address to the bride.
Sharon thanked
everyone while dressed in
rubber boots ready for
farming, rubber gloves
needed for nursing, a hat
made of "J" clothes and
a long apron decorated
with bows.
Church happenings
An official board
meeting will be held on
Sunday October 1 at 8 pm
in Kippen Church.
Next Sunday will be
World Wide Communion.
Forty excited boys and
girls received Sunday
School awards, seals and
gifts for memory work
accomplishments on
Sunday. Thanks to the
Sunday School teachers
who give of their time and
talents to make Sunday
School fun and in-
teresting.
Norman
Ball
marks 94th
One of Clinton's oldest
citizens, Norman Ball
celebrated his 94th bir-
thday on September 25.
Born in Hullett
Township at Summerhill
in 1884, Mr. Ball now lives
at his home on Rat-
tenbury Street West, He
has resided there for the
past 30 years.
Last Saturday evening
at the home of his only
daughter, Mrs. Dougall
Camtpbell of Mitchell,
relatives gathered to help
this wonderful gentleman
celebrate the special
occasion. Mr. Ball has 10
great-grandchildren.
Still enjoying good
health, Mr. Ball likes a
- game : of euchre with
frlen& and neighbors
and lends to his small
vegetably and flower
garden as a pastime.
Mr. Ball' wishes to
thank his friends and
neighbors for the
thoughtful cards and the
nice presents given to
ilm=oti his special day.
