The group's fifth meeting was held at Mrs, Brandon's on July 29 at 9 am. Mrs Brandon gave a demonstration on pickling beets. The girls then discussed achievement day. It will be held on August 16. The old clown seemed to bye facing an uncontrollable dilemma with his cantankerous old car, which seemed to have a mind of its own. (News - Record photo) Clinton ladies split bingo jackpot Rachel Johnston and Esther Kendall both of Clinton equally split the winnings of the $1,000 jackpot at the Clinton Monster Bingo held on Monday night. Gail Schmidt of Mildmay took the $147.25 special, Donna La Breton of Sarnia took the second special of $139.75 and the third special of $139.25 was won by Leona Lit- tleton of Kippen. In the regular $50 games lone winners in- cluded: Fred Sears, Goderich; Mary Arthur, Clinton; Mary Garner, Bayfield; Pearl Tideswell, Clinton; Mrs. Roy McGonigle, Seaforth ; Russ Camp- bell, Mitchell.
