Clinton News-Record, 1978-04-06, Page 19• • Auburn 4-Hgirls learn the points of The Auburn Active Angels 4-H club held meeting six at the home of Mrs. Tom Cun- ningham. The roll call was answered by naming an important point or rule for babysitters. Mrs. E. Losereit was the guest speaker with her four- month -old son Kevin and was introduced by her daughter Annette. Annette Losereit read the minutes after the meeting was opened with the 4-1-1 Pledge. Debbie Cunningham read a summary of the skit Club 2 members will present at Achievement Day. Mrs. Cunhingham showed how to bath a baby. Every member read a paragraph on the topic - parents' respon- sibilities. Linda Cunningham told how to get along with children. Debbie Cunningham thanked Mrs. Losereit and presented her with a gift. The home assignment was to complete an emergency card for your babysitter. On March 21st the Auburn 2 4-H club went on a field trip to Mr. Garth Walden's sugar bush. Pamela Losereit read the minutes and Linda Cunningham introduced Mr. Walden. Mr. Walden showed the girls how- maple syrup was made and how he taps the trees. Everyone enjoyed a hike through the bush although, all got wet from the rain. Pamela Losereit thanked Mr. Walden and presented him with a gift. On March 30 the Auburn 2 4-H club held their meeting at the home of Mrs. Tom Cun- ningham. Roll call was an- swered by each member telling how they try to keep fit. The members discussed fitness followed by all members doing various exercises. Good Food was discussed and menus were planned for the three meals for one day. They all played the game called, the key to good health. The Garden Club was outlined and also a skit for Achievement Day was' planned. SOCIAL NEWS Prize winners at the weekly euchre party held every Tuesday evening in the Community Memorial Hall were novelty, Mrs. Roy Daer, high lady, Mrs. James Glousher, low lady, Mrs. Elma McFarlane, high man, Robbie Plunkett, low man, Major Youngblut. Next Monday evening April 10 a film night will be presented by the Auburn and District Lions Club at 7:30 p.m. The first one will be The Blue Nosed Ghost and the second will be The Scottish Highlands. It is hoped that there will be a good at- tendance. Anyone wishing to take the 4-H Garden Club this spring please contact Linda Cun- ningham or Mrs. Tom Cun- ningham as the meetings will start early in April. Donald Cartwright is a patient in Alexandra Marine and General Hospital where he underwent surgery on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jardin visited in Toronto last Thursday with Mrs. F. Jardin. Mr. Bob Oswald of •Bridgeport visited his aunt Mts. Elva Straughan last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. McIntosh, Miss Margo McIntosh of London and Mr. D. Goffin of Port Stanley spent the weekend with Mrs. Frances Clark. Mrs. Elva Straughan visited recently with Mr. and Mrs Donald Jardin and family at Kitchener. Correction: I wish to correct a statement in last week's Auburn news that the Knox United Church U.C.W. donated $50.00 to Alma College for the scholarship fund. It was a misprinefor me E. Bradnock. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Haines visited last week with- her ithher sister Mrs. Harold Davis and Mrs. Davis at Bowmansville N.Y. On their return they visited with their -son Ed Haines and Mrs. Haines at Niagara Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Weston of Toronto visited on Sunday with her mother Mrs. Mary Rollinson and brother Murray Rollinson. Mrs. Rollinson returned to Toronto with them for a visit. WALKERRURN The Walkerburn Club held its monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. Tom Cun- ningham. The meeting was'in the charge of Mrs. Lloyd McClinchey. Plans were made for the next meeting to be held at the home of Mrs. Elliott Lapp. Mrs. Stewart Ball and Mrs. Garth McClinchey will be in charge of the program and Mrs. Joe Hunking and Mrs. Tom Cunningham will be the lunch committee. babysitting The financial statement was given by Mrs. Garth McClinchey.
