Cleaners, electricians, painters and plumbers moved
into high gear last week at the fire damaged Vanastra
Recreation centre getting it ready for the Christmas
season. They had the hall ready by the weekend, but the
Centre will be closed in January for more permanent
repairs. Here Bill Brautigan washed soot off of lockers.

Clinton Kinettes are living up to their club motto
The- Clinton Kinettes have
been busy this fall in their
attempts to fulfill their motto,
''Serving the Communities
Greatest Needs."
Service projects initiated
'and now successfully com-
pleted have included helping
to man the, Blood Donors
Clinic; canvassing, for the
Canadian Arthritis Society ;
taking Huronview ladies out
for tea and a scenic drive and
manning the hospital cart for
the month of November.
The Kinettes have also
helped a local family have a
better Christmas and have
given financial assistance to
an area boy for his re-training
programs. , The movies
gleaned from the Kin Kiddies
Chr,istma^s""' Mart which this
year netted over $300 will go
toward the purchase of badly
needed equipment for the
hospital children ward.
The autumn draw for a side
of beef, which was won by
Mrs. Ken Johnston, boosted
the Kinette service account
by over $200. The money will
be used for ,community
works.
Vapourizers are being
purchased for our Huronview
Christmas gift. Other
Christmas activities include
gift giving and carol singing
for Heather Gardens and
preparation of tray favours
for New Years at the hospital.
This week a Wintario
cheque for $1,350.50 arrived to
wind-up finances of the
Kinette-Wintario Project of
providing a pool heater for
our local park pool. It was
installed last June at a cost of
over $5,000 to the Kinette Club
