attended a birthday luncheon
at the Candlelight Restaurant
in Goderich in honour of Mrs.
Elva Stra4ghaia's 87th bir.

(Rut) Jardin of Auburn and
Mrs. Clayton (Annie)
Robertson of Meaford. A rose
arrangement was given to,
her. Mit. Kenneth McDougall
welcomed all and on behalf of
the assembled ladies ex-
tended congratulations. After
dinner Mrs. Straughan
thanked her friends for the
party in honour of her bir-
thday and both daughters
also expressed their ap-
preciation.

Phillips attended the wedding
of Peter Teichert and Miss

last Saturday.
Mrs. Bonnie Armour and
Miss Julie spent the weekend
with her parents Mr. and

The August meeting of the
Auburn Women's , Institute
was held last week at the
home of Mrs. Robert Peck.
The meeting was conducted
by president Mrs. Eleanor
Bradnock who opened the
meeting with the poem
August Reverie. The Ode was.
* sung followe by all repeating
the Mary Ste art Collect and
0 Canada w s sung. The
minutes of the ,previous
meeting were accepted as
read by the secretary Mrs.
Robert 'Peck. She also gave
the financial statement.
A letter was read an-
nouncing the new home
economists 'for Huron County

Miss Grace Bird. It was
announced that 4-H club
leaders for the fall project
Featuring Fruit would be

Mrs. John Hildebrand, Miss

it is so close.
