Bayfield last Sunday. Helping serve lunch after the celebration are, left to right, Ellen

Monsignor Bourdeau marks 25th
anniversary at pillage
Monsignor Bourdeau, a
loved and respected figure in
the Village, on Sunday was= -
guest of honour at a luncheon
arranged by members of his
Mission Parish in Bayfield on
the lawn at the Church of the
English Martyr (R.C.) on
Louisa Street.
In 1946, Monsignor was
appointed Pastor of St. Peters
Parish, St. Joseph and of the
Mission. Chapel here until
1955.
He then returned again in
1961, thus making it 25 years
of saying Mass in the Mission;
Chapel. ,, ..0
�LJpon his return in 1961,
.Monsignor redecorated and
remodelled the Mission
Chapel in accordance with
the new Liturgyand
established a Parish Council.
Monsignor, who is 76 years
of age was ordained a Priest
at St. Peters Cathedral on
June 12, 1927 and was
honoured on the occasion of
his Golden Jubilee by his
former parishoners at St.
Peters R.C. Church in St.
Joseph.
On Sunday many former
parishoners and. summer
residents attended to honour
him and presented him with a
purse of money to say thank
you for his wonderful
guidance ' and their ap- May he, with God's help,
preciation for 25 years of his continue to serve the Mission

Men's Slowpitch ball games
were played last week with
the following results; Blue
Anchor won over Paul
Bunyan with a score of 23-15;
and Old Homestead Camp
beat Pinlake Camp by a
narrow margin of 18-16.
In a game between Bayfield
Knighthawks and Bayfield
Lions, the Knighthawks were
victorious by an 8-3 score,
while Varna won easily over
Kitchigami Camp 22-9.
Next week, Paul Bunyan
Camp meets Bayfield Lions,
the Bayfield Knighthawks
play Kitchigami,_.. Camp,
Varna meet Old Homestead
'Camp and Blue Anchor is at
Pinlake Camp.
Team standings are listed
