Virkutis, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Virkutis of Toronto,
Ontario.
Rev. Dr, Andrew J. Mowatt
officiated at the double ring
cermony.
Mrs. Gail Sheperd, friend of
the bride was her only at-
tendant and Michael
Davidson, friend of the groom
was best man. Guests were
ushered by the brides
brother-in-law Gary Black.
A reception and dance
followed in the Queens Room,
Queen Victoria Inn.
The bridegroom's parents
attended from Toronto, as
well as the bride's sister and
brother-in-law Mr. and Mrs.
Gary Black of Clinton,
Ontario.
Other out of town guests
were from Halifax, N.S.
Ottawa . Ontario, Nanaimo,
Burnaby, Coquitlam and Fort
St. James in B.C.
The bride and ,groom will
take up residence in Halifax,
N.S.
The special programs for
Senior Citizens' Week began
on Sunday, June 19 at
Huronview with a church
service in the auditorium.
Rev. J. Ure Stewart of
Seaforth was the guest
speaker and Mrs. Doris
McKinley, organist and choir
leader of Ontario Street
United Church in Clinton
accompanied the men's
quartette --, Stan Johns,
George Turner, Chester
Archibald and John Lavis --
and the Junior choir led by
Mrs. Turner.
Blyth and Bayfield seniors
visited the Home on Monday
and entertained in the af-
ternoon with a variety
program. Administrator
Chester. Archibald welcomed
the guests and officially
opened the week's activities.
Mr. Harry Baker was emcee
for the program which in-
cluded vocal solos by Mrs.
Whittick and Mrs. McClin-
chey, a violin solo by Dalton
Smith and a sing -a -long led by
Mrs. Mary Nediger, ac-
companied by Mrs. Myrtle
Parker. The Goderich
Township volunteers and
musicians assisted with the
activities.
Brussels and Clinton
seniors were guests on
Tuesday and presented a
variety program with Mr. Ed
Martin of the Brussels Club
as emcee. Mrs. Edna Baker,,
Mrs. Van Fleet, George
Turne4,_- and Frank Hooper
entertained with vocal solos,
Elmer Trick, a vocal solo,
Ken Flett, violin' solos,
readings by Mrs. Ida
Livingston and Mrs. Edna
Adams and the Trillium Club
duet.
The Hensall and Exeter
Clubs visited the Home on
Wednesday and the
presidents, Mrs. Rundle and
Percy Campbell, shared the
emcee duties for the af-
ternoon's program. The
Hensall quartette included
Mrs. Dorothy Mickle, Mrs.
Pearl Taylor, Mrs. Myrtle
Sherritt and Mrs. Dorothy
Brintnell. There were
readings by Mrs. Windover
and Mrs. Rose Harris, mouth
organ solos by Henry Adkins,
a piano duet by Mrs. Dorothy
Mickle and Mrs. Vera Ross.
Entertining for Exeter were
Mrs. ' Bullock, 'Mrs. Fink-
beiner, Mrs. Isles, Mrs.
Merkley,Mrs. Hoffman and
Ken Johns.
The Dashwood and Grand
Bend seniors sponsored a
bingo at the Home on
Thursday afternoon and as
well • as providing the prizes
for the games, a prize was
given to . the eldest lady
playing, Mrs. Scott, 97, and
the eldest gentleman, Tom
Herman, ' 93. To date
(Thursday night) about three
hundred seniors have visited
the Home and Huronview is
looking forward to - visitors
from Goderich on Friday and
Seaforth on Saturday.
Everyone appreciates the
extra effort made by the
kitchen staff to provide the
meals and the lemonade in
the afternoons. Also ap-
preciated is the help of the
Huronview orchestra who
assisted with the music on
several occasions during the
week.

wedding of Brian Harvey
Hunking and Sandra Lois
Bailey.
The double ring ceremony
took place at 7 p.m. with Rev.
Menzies officiating.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Bailey,
Petrolia and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald
Hunking, Petrolia, formerly
of Clinton.
Given in marriage by the
bride's father, the bride wore
a gown of organza with tiny
embossed pattern
throughout. Fine hand
pleated ruffles enhanced her
bodice and skirt which for-
med a chapel train. She wore
a picture hat with pleated
brim which was com-
plemented with a bow and
streamer of veiling. She
carried a bouquet of pink
stephanotis and baby's
breath.
Maid of honor was Susan
Metzler. Bridesmaids were
Lori Bailey, sister of the
bride, Kathy Colclough and
Sue Cotterill. Her attendents
wore • jersey gowns of
romance blue and matching
picture hats. Best man was
Dave Brooks of Wyoming.
The ushers were James
Healey, Craig Dobbs and Reg
Campbell.
Following the wedding, a
reception was held at Petrolia
Legion. The bride's mother
greeted guests in a floor -
length gown of Nile green
with print jacket in con-
trasting colours. She wore a
corsage of yellow roses.
The groom's mother wore a
peach floor -length gown and a
corsage of peach roses and
white carnations.
For travelling the bride
changed to a pink jumpsuit
with matching printed jacket.
The bride and groom will
reside in Petrolia.
Bert Boyes
Bert Russell Boyes died
suddenly in Clinton on June
21. He was in his 65th year.
Mr. Boyes was born to
Edward and Elizabeth Boyes
of Stanley Township. He
attended Stanley Township
Public School and resided
there until 1934.
He was the president of
Boyes Transport Ltd., and
was,an exceptional violinist.
Mr. Boyes is survived by
his wife, the former Iva
Laurene Nott. He is also
survived by one daughter
Bonnie, of Surrey, B.C. and
three sons, Bev of Toronto;
Budd of Clinton and Bayne of
Sault Ste, Marie and six
grandchildren. Three sisters,
Mrs. Wilbert (Eva) Johnson
of Goderich, Mrs. Frank
(Florence) Fowler of
Seaforth and Mrs. Wilmer
(Mable) Reid of Bayfield also
survive.
Funeral services were held
at the Ball Funeral Home in
Clinton oJune 24 with Rev.
J. Oest icher officiating.
Intermen followed at the
Clinton Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lorne
Brown of. Clinton, Lloyd
Batkin of Clinton, Ralph
Stevenson of Varna, Jack
Hart of Clinton, Don Switzer
of Clinton and Harvey Boyce
of London.

Mrs. Margaret Ada Wain,
R.R. Bayfield, dried
Tuesd, June 21
Alexan a Marine and
General Hospital following a
lengthy illness. She was 61.
The former Margaret Ada
Marks, she was the daughter
of Charles Tudor and
Johanna (Galbraith) Marks,
born May 8, 1916 in Bayfield.
Following her marriage to
John Wain, she has been a
resident of Goderich
Township.
She was a member of
Trinity Anglican Church in
Bayfield and of the Anglican
Church Women's Guild there.
Surviving besides her
husband are two daughters,
Mrs. Donald (Mary) Knight,
Sheffield and Mrs. Arthur
(Janet) McDougall,
Goderich; three sons,
Charles, R.R. 1 Bayfield;
Tudor and Robert, both of
R.R. 2 Goderich; nine
grandchildren; one sister,
Mary Marks of Toront9; and
one brother, John Marks',
Bayfield.
The funeral service was
Friday, June 24 at McCallum
Funeral Home with the Rev.
William Bennett officiating.
Interment was in Bayfield
Cemetery. Pallbearers were
Charles Wallis, Doug Wallis,
William Mcllwaih, Lloyd
Sowerby, Bill Parker and Ken

decorated with candelabra
decorated with daisies and
mums on Friday, June 10 for
the spring wedding of Cal
Fremlin and Ruth Ann
Neilans, both of Clinton.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Richard Fremlin of
Maple Street in Clinton and
the bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Neilans of Gordon Street.
Rev. E.G. Nelson con-
ducted the double ring
ceremony., while Mrs.
Charles Merril, the organist,
accompanied Doris Coulters,
the soloist.
Given in marriage by her
mother and father, the bride
wore d white jersey gown
with long sleeves. The
neckline featured a sheer
chiffon inset which was ac-
cented by pearl embroidery.
She wore a _matching head-
piece with a daisy trimmed
finger-tip veil. To complete
her outfit, the bride carried a
cascade of miniature pink
and white mums, daisies and
red roses.
Attending the bride was a
friend Mrs. Patti Welch of
Clinton. She wore a jade
green empire waisted gown
with spaghetti straps. A jade
green chiffon jacket, trim-
med with white lace, com-
pleted her outfit. She carried
a nosegay of pink and white
miniature mums and daisies,
accented with baby's breath.
Bridesmaids were Joanne
Cochrane of Toronto and
Sarah Morgan of
Sebringville. Both girls are
friends of the bride and were
dressed identically to the
matron of honor.
The flowergirl, Paula Jean
Glen of Clinton, is a niece of
the bride. She wore a white
polyester satin dress, 'that
featured an empire waist and
short bell sleeves.
Raymond Burns of Toronto,
a friend of the groom, was the
best man and ushers were
Richard Welch of Clinton, a
friend, and Rick Fremlin of
Clinton, a brother of the
groom. Ringbearer was
Master Dillon Fremlin, a
nephew of the groom.
After the wedding
ceremony, a reception was
held at the . Clinton Com-
munity Centre. To greet her
guests, the bride's mother
wore a lime green gown with
a matching short jacket. She
wore a corsage of red and
pink carnations to complete
her outfit.
The groom's mother
assisted dressed in a deep
pink gown which was com-
pleted with a corsage of pale
pink carnations.
The young couple took a.
wedding trip through
Southern Ontario and will be
residing in Strathroy.
Prior to the wedding, the
bride was feted by a shower
held by the office staff at
Cronin Transport Limited at
the home of Mrs. Carol
Baker, Seaforth. Also a
shower was held by the
Dublin Shamrock Ball Team
of Dublin.
• A miscellaneous shower
was held at the home of Mrs.
Lois Turner of Mary St. in
Clinton. A social evening was
held at the home of Mrs.
Valerie Miller of Clinton.
Also, a bridal shower was
held by Mrs. Shirley Kay and
Mrs. Patti Welch at the home
of Mrs. Kay on Townsend
street in Clinton.
