McLaughlin Estate in

School News
School will end on Friday,
June 24 for all pupils.
Dismissal will take place at
2:30 pm. We hope that the
pupils have a healthy and
happy holiday.
Friday, June 24 the annual
graduation for grade eight
will be held with a noon
luncheon at 12:15 and the
graduation program at 1:15
pm. The grade eight pupils
will be excused from morning
classes and will attend the
ceremonies with their
parents or guardians. All
parents of the grade eight
students are cordially invited
to the luncheon and program.
The pupils from grades five
to seven will also participate
in the graduation services. .
Though school officially
ends on June 24, some of the
students are being asked to
return on June 29 to par-
ticipate in a ball tournament
at Clinton.
Recently the grade eight
class took a trip to Niagara
Falls and the grade five class
visited the Science Centre in
Toronto. Everyone had a
good time and both trips were
financed by student raised
funds and board con-
tributions.
Mrs: Bill Batkin and Reta Potter seem to be deciding
whether they should nip a piece of turkey and ham from
the plates, but really the ladies were only waiting until
the people were seated for the ham and turkey supper at
the Holmesville United Church. Then the ladies, along
with the rest of the UCW group would begin serving the
meat, salads and choice of pies. (News -Record photo)

UCW plan bake sales
The Kippen UCW met June
14 for their regular monthly
meeting. Mrs. E. Anderson
had the worship and opened
with a poem entitled "June".
Mrs. D. Cooper, president,
chaired the rest of the
meeting and the roll call was
answered by naming a for-
mer minister of Kippen
Church.
The ladies are planning to
hold two bake sales at
Homestead, one on July 2 and
one on August 13.

numbers.
