Oil crews drilling on area roads Drill rigs along the side of Huron County roads will be a familiar site this summer as Teledyne Explorations of Calgary searches the area for oil. The company, which recently started testing in several townships, has five drill units working in the area. The rigs drill about 15 foot deep hole along the road side in which a light explosive charge is placed. This charge is ignited , and the shock waves are recorded on a seismograph. The results from the tests are sent back to Calgary for analysis. Robert McCallum, assistant field manager for Teledyne Explorations said it will depend on the weather exactly how long they will be working in the area. The crews are unable to test when it is raining because the seismography would pick up the noise of the rain and this would distort the results. He said he expects the crews to be working here all summer. Advertising... lets you know what's what. CANADIAN ADVERTISING ADVISORY BOARD 3 a.m. the most dangerous hour for you and your family.
