bureaucratic system has let
the big businesses who handle
the commodities essential to
all rich or poor, increase their

poor and low income to live a
happy and normal life and
pay for these things at about

Councillor Frank Falconer
said, "I don't like to see our
ratepayers charged at the
door.'.'
Mrs. Cardn, said the
Tuckersmith children in-
volved were mainly from
Harpurhey and Egmondville,
both hamlets adjoining the
town.
Reeve of Seaforth, John
Flannery, was the spokesman
on the chaxge of $1,400 asked
by the town from the town-
ship for use of the dump. He
explained that the increase of
$200 asked was due to the
increased costs at the dump
such as bulldozing, having the
gate manned Wednesdays
and Saturdays and having
had to put a new fence around
the 14 acre site on govern-
ment orders.
Mrs. Flannery said the
operating cost of the dump
last year was $4,667.35.
Mrs. Cardno asked the
township council to consider
sharing the cost of a building
inspector with the town. She
• also said the town was
planning a community picnic
and would like to see
Tuckersmith participate in it.
In other business council
accepted a tender for $735
from John Gerrits Con-
struction of Clinton for a new
concrete sidewalk to replace
the gravel walkway on the
property. It was the lowest of
four tenders. Following the
interviewing of five men for a
position as grader operator
council hired Ken Miller of
RR 4 Seaforth.
Approved for payment
were the following accounts,
Sinclair Drain $3,478.70 and
L.I.P. $1,035.44 for a total of
$4,514.14.

plications were approved as

township will be able to rent
the former bank building in
Vanastra as an office for the
new clerk -treasurer Jim
McLachlon on July 1.
Reeve Sillery Was
authorized to have the hot
