Hullett faces snow costs
Snow removal from the
township roads has become a
Iv major undertaking over the
past winters and because of
this the Hullett Council has
decided to apply for an ad-
ditional supplement of $12,700
for winter road maintenance
in 1977. This motion was .
passed at the council's
regular meeting on June 6.
Additional road , problems
have been occurring in the
Hullett Marsh Area were
reports have been made of
flooding over the road. Herb
Clark and Rene Jones were
present at council to discuss
the possible road closing or
other alternatil✓es in the area.
It was decided that an on-site
meeting may offer more
information into the
situtation. According to Clerk
Clare Vincent council will
probably decide to raise the
road to a higher level to avoid
more flooding.
In other business that
cou4i1 agreed to draft a
letter for the Londesboro
Athletic Association to be
sent to W intario. "i he
proposed grant will help to
pay for lights in the ball park.

Vincent explained that the by-
law allows for payments of
six per cent over a ten year
period.
After a series of lengthy'
discussions and reports, the
Young drain finally received
approval from the council
and tenders were set. Owners
from Morris and Hullett
Townships attended the
council meeting and Mr.
Morue decided, to accept the
original plan of installing tile
on his property.
Four tenders were received
on the open work and two for
the closed work on the drain.-
The
rain.-The tender of Carson was
accepted for the open por-
tionof work in the ditch for the
price of $4,800. Roth's price of
$12,500 was accepted as the
tender to complete the
closed part of the drain.
Some dissatisfaction was
still reported in the Court of
Revision on the Verwey
drain. L. Archambault made
an appeal to the council and
they decided to remove $75
from the assessment of Mr.
Archambault and place it on
the township road assessment
on the Verwey Drainage
Works.
Although tenders will now
be advertised for the drain,
council did not give its final
approval for the drain's
construction.
the ladies a look at her
