The Holmesville Public School senior boys' soccer team captured the 1976-77
soccer title recently at a tournament held in Goderich. The boys won every
game they played in the double knockout one day tourney to take the pen-
nant back to Holmesville for the year. The players are (front row from left)

Roman Catholic Separate
School Board will advertise

resignation was accepted
with regret by the board.

accepted the resignation of
Marigold Collins effective
May 18 --the termination of
her contract was by mutual
consent.
'The board gave permission
to the property committee to
hold a joint meeting May 30 at
1 :15 p.m. at the board office
with a committee from the
Perth County Board of
Education to discuss using
board property in, Stratford.
The property involved is six

St. Michael's School, Strat-

Vintar reported that there
is some difficulty in getting
the two new French teachers
for the system as required to
extend the French classes to
lower grades. He said he has
interviews scheduled for May
26.

qualified French teacher.

Worship service was held in
Holmesville United Church
Sunday at 9:45 a.m. Sunday
school'was held in the Church
Hall with Rev. John
Oestreicher in charge.
School News
On Friday May 20 the
pupils of the Holmesville
School , took part in school
activities which ' helped to
observe the Silver Jubilee of
Queen Elizabeth II.
• In the firstpart of the day,
the pupils were asked to
carry out certain obligations
about` the school, which
"`helped lo practise good
citizenship and later in the
afternoon a program
honoring Queen, Elizabeth's
Silver Jubilee was held in the
gymnasium at 2:30.
The Reeve of Goderich
Township, Gerry Ginn,
consented to be part of the
afternoon program which
You never know what makes
some people tick until they
begin to unwind.

medallions commemorating
the Queen's Anniversary. The
program included presen-
tation by the reeve, teachers
and pupils.
By the end of the day,. the
school had the fences painted,
flower gardens in order,
school, ground cleaned,
garage and their phys ed
equipment. A busy day for
all.
Baseball
The Goderich Township
Recreation are using the ball
diamond at the Holmesville
school each night for prac-
tise. Holmesville is just
bustling with activities, neW
benches are now set up for the
players of each team.
New schedules will be in the
paper before long. Watch for
them.
