second the committee has
received from the Royal
Commission. Last year it
received an $18,000 grant to
help finance a research
report written by planning
consultantNorman Pearson
of London which was
presented to the commission
at a special hearing in
Listowel in January.
Mr. van Donkersgoed noted
that of the $1,8,000, the
committee used ap-
proximately $14,000, retur-
ning the rest.
The debate portion of the
Royal Commission hearings,
the final stage before Dr.
Porter will; issue his report
next year, will include 54 days
of hearings, most of which
will be held in Toronto. On the
days on which the hearings
have been scheduled: debates
will be held from 2 to 5 p.m.
and again from 7 to 10 p.m.
Mr. Moore pointed out that
farmers will be especially
interested in the hearings on
July 19, 20 when a panel
discussion will be held on
transmission and land use
and again on July 21, 26, 27, 28
when the commission will
hear submissions from farm
groups.
