The boys held a pop and beer bottle drive on Saturday and realized $93 from their venture - plus a $12 donation, making a dotal of $105 collected during the weekend. The boys extend a very special thank you to Haugh Equipment in Brucefield for the use of their truck; to Ed and Marg Gale of the Tank and Tummy Restaurant; to Jack Merner of Merners Garage,; to Scotty's Store of Drysdale and to McAsh's of Varna for their very kind acceptance of the bottles collected. They also said thanks to all who donated bottles to help them make their drive such a successful one. To those who supported the Minor Soccer, you will be pleased to learn that the boys won their first match of the season, Thur- sday last in Goderich, beating Goderich 6 to 2 in a very well played game. The little fellows practise tonight (Thurs.) at 6:30 p.m. in preparation for a good match with another club in the near future. They will be sporting the Tank and Tummy shirts. In order to earn a few more dollars for their coffers, the boys have agreed to clean-up Clan Gregor, Square and are asked to meet there at 10 a.m. on June 11. Rummage sale planned Mrs. Gail Grant, .who is the convenor of the Annual Pioneer Park Rummage Sale called to say that they are planning their Sale for the second Friday evening in July, which is July 8. They are asking that everyone save their used furniture; shoes, household items; books, plants etc. etc. etc., and donate them to the Rummage Sale. This Sale is the only fund- raising activity during the year and goes towards the upkeep and maintenance of Pioneer Park. Village social notes Best wishes to Miss Nancy Fawcett, who is now residing in Calgary, Alberta and is employed as a data processing operator. One thing that Holiday Weekends bring is the chance to sit in the sun and relax and oft times, one sits far too long as happened to your neigh- bour this past weekend. A dreadful sunburn resulted, with a rather "queezy" stomach and as the result, there was very little news gathered. For this I offer -my very sincerest apologies. Miss Bonnie Stewart, RR 2, Ripley was a Victoria Day weekend guest of her relatives, Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Erickson, Andrew, Luanne and Lydia and accompanied them for a weekend in Port Huron, Mich. Also joining the family as Bonnie's guest was Miss Laurie Morrison. Mr. and Mrs.. Bruce Aberhart and Bob, Corunna; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Aberhart and Bill Jr. of Sarnia were at the Aberhart Cottage for the holiday weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard F. Sturgeon, Jeff and Rollie of Orangeville were at their home in the Village for the long weekend and also called on his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Jack B. Sturgeon and brother Andrew. Mrs. Milvena Erickson visited her sister Mrs. Norma Stewart RR 2 Ripley, and accompanied her to Owen Sound last Wednesday. Best wishes to Kelso Fit- zsimmons, who was injured in an accident at Dominion Roads Machinery Company in Goderich last Friday. By Nina Haw Mr. Wm. Vrieze of Oakville visited with Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Smith on the weekend. He was accompanied home by his wife Janet and little Billie who have spent' two weeks with Janet's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Scotchmer Robert, Lori and Carolyn of Chatham were. at their home in the village on the weekend. The former's mother, Mrs. Greta Scot- chmer spent the weekend with them. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Burt, Ronald and Timmie of Woodstock were at their home in the village. Mrs. M. Gray of Toronto, Mrs. Burt's mother, was their guest for the weekend, also" _ their daughter Miss Jo -Anne Burt of Toronto and Mr. and Mrs. Stan Smith and baby Dean of Woodstock. Mr. and Mrs. John Pounder and Krystie also Shane were with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pounder. Miss Mary Pounder, Toronto was also home for the holiday. Mrs. Hobson of Clinton and her son Oliver and two children from Quebec visited on the weekend in the Wm. Parker home. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baker visited in Ottawa for a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Morley Coleman. They sat in Parliament as guests of Robert McKinley, who. is Fern's nephew. This was 'one' of the highlights during their visit. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Claudia, London, were at their cottage here and guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baker on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Lynn and Debora of Etobicoke were at their home on the Terrace on the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Brown and two boys from Toronto, and Mr. Frank Gerachi of Windsor were guests. Also with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Lynn were the latter's brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. George Howard of Holiday, Florida, who spent a few days here. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ludlow of Mississauga visited in the same home. Miss Winnifred and' Julia Armstrong are home with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Armstrong. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Sankster and Beth of Toronto were guests on the weekend in the W. D. Armstrong home. Mr. Dwight Nelson of Barrie, who was student minister at Knox Presbyterian Church last summer, conducted services here on Sunday and expects to be here again next Sunday: Mr. and Mrs. Paton from Knox College, Toronto, then plan on being hereto take the services for tate summer. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Latimer were at their home on Howard St. Miss Ella McKay, Alma Bassett and Barbara Mathews of Goderich spent a day recently with Mrs. Jessie Blair. Also visiting Jessie was Mrs. Mary Weston of Blue Water Nursing Home, Zurich. The Ormond families have been visiting their father, Mr. H. H. Ormond who plans on taking up residence in Anne Arbor, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Beatty, Kitchener, were at their cottage on the weekend. We are pleased to see Canon F. H. Paull of Bran- tford back in our village again. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Heard, Stratford, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Russel Heard, Bill and N. Haw on Wednesday. Mrs. Dorothy Weston has sold her home on Main St. Mr. and Mrs: Ed Strang of Vancouver visited recently with Mrs. Elva Metcalf. Callers in the same home were Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Whiteman of Toronto. The latter couple had never been in Bayfield before and were greatly impressed with our beautiful village. Sale successful The bake sale held on the lawn of Dawna Weestlake's home on Saturday was a very successful one. A pleasing amount was received for homemade baking sold at the tables. The ladies of St. Andrew's United Church are very grateful to all who patronized their sale and to all who helped to make it such a success. Mr., and Mrs. Rick Westlake and a friend were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Westlake on the weekend. A very happy social gathering was spent at MacKay Hall, Goderich, on Wednesday evening when the Ever Young Sr. Citizens of Bayfield were entertained by the Goderich Sr. Citizens. A program and progressive euchre was enjoyed by all. A delicious lunch was served. The members are looking forward to their bus trip on Wednesday, May 25th. We are again reminded of the Pot Luck'' lunch when the 3M's meet in the basement of St. Andrew's United Church on Thursday at 8:30 with Mr. Gregg, Director of Training at the Blue Water Centre, as guest speaker. On Sunday Mrs. Raymond Scotchmer very capably presided at the organ during service at the United Church due to the absence of Mrs. Molly Cox. The individual's right of access and appeal in relation to the use of Government information; 3. The categories of Government information which should be treated as confidential in order to protect the public interest; 4. The effectiveness of present procedures for the dissemination of Government information to the public; 5 The protection of individual privacy and the right of recourse in regard to the use of Government records. One aspect of the Study will include the acceptance of written Briefs and the Receipt of Submissions as well , as a series of public meetings throughout the Province. Mrs. Ronald Poth, Don Mills, visited with the Frasers and Michael and Gary with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Le Roy Poth next door. Ronald Poth was attending the car races at Mosport. Mr. and Mrs. John McKenzie of Windsor, and daughter Mrs.. D. Soper of Ottawa were at their cottage on the weekend. Mr. Kelso Fitzsimons was injured in an Industrial ac- cident on Friday at Goderich and is in intensive care in Alexandra Marine and General Hospital. Our best wishes are with Kelso. Mr. and Mrs. John $ Pongracz of London spent the, weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fitzsimons. Mrs. Sylvia Smale, London, was with the Fitzsimons family on the weekend. Darlene and Laura visited on Sunday, and they also visited Kelso at "the hospital. Darlene remained 'till Monday.
