Church news
Many former members and
friends gathered at Hensall
United Church to hear Dr.
Robert McClure speak on the
topic, "God's Other Sheep"
on Sunday morning, May 22.
The service was conducted
by Rev. Don Beck, supported
by Mrs. John Turkheim at the
organ and a 16 voice choir.
Dr. McClure spoke of his
entry into the mission field.as
a medical graduate at the age
of 21 and of the support he has
had in his work since then,
both from Canadians and
those of other societies and
cultures. The Western World
can offer technical and
teaching aid and the Third
World Countries, by their
mode of life, can teach us how
to live and be happy in high
density conditions by giving
mutual support, how. to
achieve non-violence and how
to combat covetousness.
Mrs. Donna St. John gave
two lovely solos, "Bless This
House" and, "How Lovely
are Thy Dwellings".
Following the service, the
congregation had an op-
'portunity to meet Dr.
McClure while being served
refreshments under the
maple trees on the west side
of the church.
