The Charter was draped in - - memory of the late Sister Sue Leacock, past president of the Rebekah Assembly and past Grand Master Brother Albert Bruner, Mrs. Maggie Campbell reported for the visiting committee. and Mrs. Margaret Consitt reported for the C.P.T. committee, stating a donation was made to the 'Cancer Society. Cards of thanks were read and the members were reminded of the 65th an- niversary of Edelweiss Lodge, Seaforth on Wed- nesday, May llth and the past Grand's invitation to Pride of Huron Lodge, Exeter on Thursday, May 12th. Mem- bers are to meet at the Lodge rooms at 7 :30 p.m. Mrs. Dorothy Parker read the financial statement, and arrangements were made to serve lunch following the church service on May 15th. Nominations followed with the following being O nominated: Noble Grand, Mrs. Maggie Campbell; vice - grand, Mrs. Wreatha Gregg ; recording secretary, Mrs. Leona ,Park; financial secretary, Mrs. Irene Black- well ; treasurer, Mrs. Dorothy . Corbett; trustee, Mrs. Aldeen * Volland. The entertainment com- mittee arranged Euchre Bingo games- and the social committee served refresh- rnents. Social notes Mr. and Mrs. William Mickle, Pamela, Judith, John and Mrs. Florence Joyn spent Sunday with the .for - o mer's mother, Mrs. Laird Mickle and enjoyed a hot • turkey dinner. Mr. William Petty is a. patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter. Mrs. Campbell Eyre is confined to St. Joseph's Hospital, London. Mr. Gordon Love is un- dergoing treatment at South Huron Hospital, Exeter. Mrs. Eldrid Moffatt of Brucefield has accepted the • position of Librarian at Hensall Public Library. Edgar Munn celebrated his 85th birthday this past week. A family dinner was enjoyed with his son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Don Gooding and Dale Of Parkhill and Mr. and Mrs. Don Gooding Jr. Strathroy at- tending. Mr. Munn also *received greetings from his granddaughter Miss Debbie Gooding R.N. at Moosonee by telephone. - the home of Mrs. F.G. Bon- thron on. Monday last week with sixteen present. The president Mrs. Harvey Hyde opened the meeting with a poem 'Spring Cleaning" - Mrs. Percy Campbell was in charge of the devotional and opened it followed by a reading by Mrs. Alex McGregor. Mrs. Clarence Volland read the scripture, followed by prayer by Mrs. M. Glanville. A reading. was given by Mrs. Percy Cam- pbell, followed by singing Work for the Night is Coming". The offering was taken and dedicated also the Least Coin. The secretary's minutes were read and approved and the roll call taken. Mrs. Rochus Faber gave a report of the Synodical she attended in Stratford April 12 and 13th, and arrangements were made for the birthday party to be held June 6th at 8 p.m. when Rev. and Mrs. Bruce Pierce of Crediton will be guest speakers, with Mrs. Edith Bell in charge of the program. Mrs. Harvey Hyde gave a poem "Recipe for Mother". The meeting closed With the Lord's Prayer. Mrs. Clarence Volland presided for the meeting of the Ladies' Aid which followed. Items of business were discussed and a delicious lunch was served by the hostess. W.M.S. meet The WMS of Carmel Presbyterian .Church met at Social notes Mrs. Harry Horton, who was a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter returned to her home. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Nickle, Pam, Judith and John and Mrs. Florence Joynt spent Sunday with the former's mother, Mrs. Laird Nickle. Queensway news Visitors at Queensway Nursing Home were Marion and Howard Johns with Mrs. Mabel Johns; Cathy and Marion Schenk visited Hugh Schenk, and Mrs. Betty -Smith and Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Pooley visited Lynn Latimore and several other residents. - Mr. and Mrs. Sid Pullman visited Bernice Lavery; Misses Greta and Amy Lammie visited Vera Lammie; Mr. Harold Glanville visited with Mr. Glanville and Fred and Mary Parsons -of London visited Mrs. Almeeda Par- sons. Ferne '\Des jardin ; Zurich, Alvin Whilhelm of Tavistock, nephew and Mr. and Mrs, Murray Taylor of Clinton visited Adeline Taylor. Weekly visitors were Barb Bell with her mdther, Mrs. Hedley ; Cathy Bell with her mother Mrs. Monteith; Sharon Doxtator with her mother Mrs. Lavery, Mrs. McDonald visited her husband Roy McDonald, and Mrs. Erratt visited her husband Russell Erratt. Church service was con- ducted by Rev. Vary Essen accompanied by Mrs. Van Essen. The United Church Unit of Hensall United Church entertained residents Monday with bingo and treats for all.
