Alex Harrett scored three
goals to lead the senior soccer
team to a 5-0 victory last
Thursday against Exeter.
Richard Verberne and
Wilmar Bakker also scored in
a very strong offensive effort
by the Redmen.
Clinton clearly dominated
the game from beginning to
end and could easily have
scored even more goals.
The defense allowed very
few shots on Dave Counter,
who extended his shutout
streak to four games.
On Tuesday May 10, the
Junior Redmen won against
Wingham with a score of 3-1.
The team made an excellent
effort and presented a very
good game to watch, for fans.

Just ask Annie!
Dear Annie:
How are you? Now to Now
to more serious business.
We have had enough. There
seems to be a growing
majority, particularly among
the athletes in this school,
opposed to the tennis courts.
Yet we persist in raising
funds for them.
To put it plainly, the con-
dition of the gym, the
uniforms and equipment
available to the teams, and
especially the football -
soccer field is THE PITS! It
is tough enough to compete
against the better equipped
schools without having to
hear the criticism of other
teams about the poor con-
ditions at our school.
I would suggest the money
be put to better use by
repairing existing athletic
equipment - and facilities.
Anyone can see, or rather
feel, the poor shape of the
soccer field. It is so rough
that it is amazing that rio one
has - been seriously hurt.

holes ori the field.
Other teams have new
sweaters and equipment
while we make do with
shoddy, patched up equip-
ment.
The tennis courts, although
a worthy cause, would be
used by only a few people on
any regular basis, and we feel
- that they should take a back
seat to the immediate

problem of giving our school

Just Getting By by Head Held
High
Dear High:
I am fine. Now to more
serious business.
It has never occured to me
that our athletes are that
badly backed up. Never
having been that way inclined
and never before exposed to
complaints of this kind, I'm at
something of a loss as to how
valid your argument is. I'm
sure there are other sch'ols
in the region with more and
better equipment, and the
aggravation on your part is
understandable, but there are
surely oth'er schools with
poorer facilities.
I don't think we're doing
that badly -- besides, a new
sweater isn't much good if it
hasn't got anything inside. As
for the tennis courts, they are
almost as much a community
'project as a school project, at
least insofar as the majority
of the funds, if not the work, is
concerned.
I doubt that it would be
possible, unfortunately, to
raise much money for the
Phys. Ed. Department,
though it may need it. It is far
easier to get people to pay for
the tennis facilities. Cheer up,
though; if the fund-raising
campaign falls through, there
may be some lucrative lef-
tovers for next year.
By the way, your letter
gave me a great idea out of its
sheer immensity, and I have
decided to hereby kick off
"Annie's Most Unbelievably
Long, Tedious and Absolutely
Pointless Letter of the Year
Award". (no reflection on
your pointed and worthwhile
'letter). I've gone to the
liberty of nicknaming the
award the "Annie", humble
as I am.
And I can see by the clock
on the wall that I'm breaking
a record of sorts myself, so,
just to finish up...

This week at CHSS
These past two weeks were
filled with surprises and
facts. Just look !
+ ++
The chocolate Bar cam-
paign has just finished and
results are out. Seneca Tribe
sold the most chocolate bars
and home form I E (Mrs.
McLay's home form) has sold
the most chocolate bars.
Even -better, Cathie Lewis
of (would you believe) IE has
sold the most chocolate bars.
For her effort, she won a
black and white portable TV..
This should be a great event
for the Seneca's and Mrs.
McLay's 1E.
+ ++,
The Family Pack is still
being sold, and Randy
McVittie of lE bought the
100th pack. It was given to
him free for the honour.

"Have you got a date for the
formal yet??
The formal is just this
Friday, May 13th (un!'.cky)
and the cost is just $8 per
couple. Let's " have a good
turnout.
