Welcoming into the Narthex were Harry Snell and Jack 11' Tamblyn, and the ushers were Greg Andrews, Steven Bromley, Kevin Hulley and Danny Lear. The choir anthem was "Jesus Loves The Little Children" with the Snell sisters, Barbara, Bosman, Bonnie and Bette Jewitt trio assisting with Mrs. Allen Shaddick choir leader and A Mrs. Glen McGregor organist. Rev. McDonalds children theme was "Home of The Swallows" his message was "It runs in the Family". The flowers at the front of the church were placed by Mr. and Mrs. Ken Thompson in honour of the marriage of their daughter, Jo Anne to Jim Durst in this church on Saturday. • 0 Cheerio Club Cheerio Club held their April meeting on May 4th at the home of Mary Longman. The meeting opened with Mary welcoming all and Laura Lyon read "Art of Living". The minutes of the last meeting and the treasurer's report were read by the (61 assistant secretary Gladys Arm'strong. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thom- pson spent Thursday and Friday at Clarkesburg and attended the funeral of his uncle, Russell Thompson on Friday. Rev. MacDonald visited with his mother at Atwood on Sunday. Also on Sunday, Mrs. Ron Ellerby, Clinton and Joan Garrow, London visited. Ross and Patricia visited his mother in Seaforth Hospital in the af- ternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cowan and Greg of Hanover visited his mother on the weekend. Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Carter and Colleen were Cathy Carter, R.N. Psychiatric Hospital, London, and Larry of Waterloo University. (News -Record photo) • 60 attend plant auction The Clinton Horticultural Society's plant auction sale was held May 6, in the town hall and drew a crowd of about 60 eager buyers. The quality was superb - trees, violets and table arrangements - since it was so close to Mother's Day. The Pullens donated fer- tilizer, just everything for sale from flowers to food for growth. The auctioneer, Richard Lobb was good as always, assisted by Mrs. Greg Brandon and secretary, Mrs. Dorothy Williams. Proceeds were $136.10. The Junior Gardeners held a most successful spring flower show and tea at the charming country home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Pullen last Saturday. The children planned to serve out on the patio, but the weatherman did not co- operate so 16 Junior gar- deners received 32 guests in the lovely Pullen home.
