The Londesboro ladies choir sang two anthems "Joy Unspeakable" and "We Are Climbing Jacob's Ladder", with Ann Snell taking the solo part with Mrs. Allen Shaddick choir leader and Mrs. Glenn McGregor' organist. The scripture was read by Mrs. Lorne Hunking, leading in prayer was Mrs. Ted Hunking, and the guest speaker was Miss Larone Ballagh of Wingham. Her message was "Who is My Neighbour'". Next Sunday will be Christian . Family Sunday. Explorers The Explorers meeting was held on Thursday April 28th, beginning the meeting with the Explorer purpose and the singing of the Explorer song. Laurel Duizer and Valerie Millson showed the Explorer emblem, and Shelley Westerhout showed the Explorer picture. The keeper of the log recorded the at - WI Card Party There were 11 tables in play at the WI card party on Friday, April 29th. Winners were: ladies' high, Dora Shobbrook; ,lone hands, Elsie Shaddick; low, Edythe Beacom; men's high, Axddre Hunking (playing as a man) ; lone hands, Jim McEwing; low, Marjorie Anderson (playing as a man) ; birthday nearest to date, Ellen Sillib. To end up the season there will be a desserrt euchre on May 13th at. 7:30 p.m. with each member to bring a dessert and an article fqr the grocery draw. merhill dessert euchre and bake sale on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Shob- brook visited on Wednesday with their granddaughter Joan Garrow, London. Mrs. Harriet Knox and Lavina, Toronto spent the weekend at her home here. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Fothergill and family at- tended a family party op Sunday in honour of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Colonel Marks, RR3 Listowel, on the occasion of their 52nd Wed- ding Anniversary April29. The supper . was held at Woolner' -s Lodge at Three Bridges with 30 people at- tending, including their seven children and 13 grand- children. Miss Pat Burns, Toronto, spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Bob Burns. Visiting with Mr. Personals Kevin Hulley had a ton- sillectomy in Seaforth 'Hospital on Tuesday, April 26th. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Newby returned home on Wednesday April 27th after spending the past six months at Fort Pierce, Florida. Mrs. Les Reid returned home on April 25th after spending two weeks at Lauderdale and Miami, Florida, the guest of C. D. Kessiner. We welcome Mrs. Cathy McKellar and Lisa from Constance, who have moved into the home of Gordon Harkes. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Trick have purchased the farm of Mr. and Mrs. Mac Sewers. The Sewers are holding an auction sale on May 14th. Several from here attended the dessert euchre at Walton on Tuesday evening and 15 ladies attended the Sum - News of Hensall Mrs. William Smale, who underwent surgery in St. Joseph's Hospital London, returned to her home. Mrs. William Rogerson, who has been receiving treatment in Clinton Hospital, was able to return to her home. Church service Rev. Ron McCallum, assistant minister at Knox Presbyterian Church Goderich, conducted the service in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday delivering a forceful message on the subject "The Inevitable Evidence in the Upper Room". Miss Brenda Pepper presided at the organ. Next Sunday will be "Family Sunday" in keeping with mother's day and a ,junior choir, will assist in the music. Choir practise will be at 7:30 Thursday. The Anniversary service - will be held on May 15th when Rev. J. Ure Stewart was honoured on his 70 years as a minister. The church presented him with a plaque and his gran- dson was the 'guest soloist. Rev. Stewart had married Mr. and Mrs. Thompson. Mrs. Vic Stackhouse and Pat motored to Ottawa with Mrs. Berne McKinley and Becky, RR1 Zurich arrd spent the weekend while Pat and Becky took their step dancing lessons. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thom- pson visited Sunday af- ternoon with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hamilton, Moorefield. Rev. McDonald returned home on Wednesday from spending five days in Toronto attending a cancer seminar. Berean Unit of UCW will hold their meeting May 10th at 2 p.m. in the church parlour. Visiting Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Longman was her sister-in- law, -Mrs, Ralph Warnes and daughterr Debbie Dolmage, Seaforth. The WI meeting will be held May 11th at 8 p.m. and the guest speaker will be Mr. Don Campbell, ad- ministgrator at A.R.C.,, in- dustries, Dashwood who will be showing pictures, also a craft display of their work with each member being a guest. A donation of groceries is needed for the draw on Friday. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Armstrong on their 52nd wedding anniversary April 29th.
