Clinton News-Record, 1977-04-21, Page 2PAGE 2—CLINTON NEWS -RECORD, THURSDAY, APRIL 21, 1977 Good music comes to Clinton not necessarily in spite pf our country location but rater through the efforts of some 7arsighted citizens. During th.e past few years the I.O.D.E. Sarah Hale Clinton Chapter hosted the "Wood- stock Choralaires" in a well attended concert at CHSS - and the Madeleine Lane Auxiliary brought the Schneider Male Chorus to an enthusi4stic audience in the Presbyterian Church. Yet again, this past weekend, Clintonians were treated to another musical first. Last Saturday evening the "Chancellors" from Weston, Ontario gave a recital at Wesley -Willis' United Church and returned Sunday morning to lead the service. Their visit was a great success. But, there's a note missing (pardon the pun). We only wish that our own CHSS students could have staged a musical this year. Memories of Brigadoon, Oklahoma and Annie Get Your Gun only accentuate the fact that this year was without a produc- tion - something which always provides a special personal appeal for our • te' 'i~ - c4 Jteko1S' tQVAT 4,4. >' 154* townspeople. - Perhaps we may hope tor a high school performance next Spring?? +++ Mr. and Mrs. John A. Hudie of Sarnia spent the Easter weekend with the tatter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Morin and family at Sudbury and also visited the grand- parents in Sault Ste. Marie then returned to spend the rest of the week with Mr. Hudie's mother - Mrs. Evelyn Hudie and grandmother, Mrs. Wise. +++ Mrs. William Wise, Mrs. A. Hudie and Mr. and Mrs. John Hudie spent Friday in Lon- don, visiting Mrs. H.L. Wise while there. +++ There is a death notice in our paper this week reprinted from The Peterborough Examiner which is of special interest to many in town. It records the passing of Isaac R. (Ike) Rattenbury, a son of the late Joseph Rattenbury, who owned and operated Rattenbury House prior to the turn of the century and after whom, of course, and of our main streets is named. eta. • ika 14.• To Join - just come into the News -Record office, 53 44cr Albert St. Clinton or phone 482-3443 and have your tOt. name entered in the Birthday Book and get your FREE sip button.
