Red Cross may have
fund drive in Clinton
A group of interested
citizens met at the home of
Mrs. Frank Fingland
Thursday evening, November
18 to make tentative plans for
a Red Cross drive for funds in
the new year. No appeal for
money has been held in
Clinton for some years.
The meeting was chaired
by Douglas Fisher, Executive
Director of the London area
-branch of the Red Coss.
MUCTi is known of the Red
Cross wprk internationally
but some national and local
work is not so well-known.
The blood donor clinic is
one well-known Red Cross
service, but others such as
safety assistance in the form
of medicine, clothing,
financial contributions for
relief supplies, homemaker
services, treats on wheels,
teaching ' of small craft
safety, and first aid training
are not so well publicized.
Representatives from some
of the local organizations
were present to discuss the
fund raising drive, including,
Paul Kerrigan,; Kinsmen
club; Mrs. Ted Davies, Mrs.
Gladys East and Frank Pike,
president of -the men's
Legion.
Mrs. Frank Fin°gland
formed a small committee to
study and plan for the up-
coming project. More names
will be added as interest in

mounts.
