ster(31st), Renee Roor-

The WOSSA meet brings an
end to the cross* country
season for this year. Thanks
are due to Mr,- Ludwig, who
gave much in valuable time
and support to the teams.
He hopes to keep everybody
jogging and in shape for the
track and field season next
spring. So keep on jogging!
for the walkers. The bikers
rode to Auburn and back
which made up the 20 mile
route.
Jan Divok and Louisa
Martins started off on their
bikes- on the 20 mile route;
came back to Clinton only to
start out again on the 10 mile

place runner was Wilmar
Bakker, 73 rain.
The first biker to complete
the 20 miles was. Phil Potter
in 80 min. Close behind came

Recovering their form after
a disappointing tournament
in Exeter two weeks ago in
which the team suffered its
first loss of the regular
season, the CHSS Senior
Redmen Volleyball team
posted a 4-4 wins and losses
record at kthe Huron -Perth
championship in Mitchell last
Thursday.
The team won third place in
the tournament. with four
other teams competing.
Although they did not gain a
berth at the upcoming
W.O.S.S.A. championships,
the team was not disap-
pointed with their showing, as
they easily defeated Stratford
Northwestern and Wingham,
and were only edged out of
second place by scores of 15-7
and 15-13 in a closely con-
tested match against St.
Marys.
Ironically, the team played
best against Listowel, . the
eventual winners of the
tournament and the best
team participating.
Although the Score (15-7)
doesn't indicate it, our second
game against this team was
our best of the season and one
of the best of any of the games
played in the tournament. As
it turned out, however, the
Hallowe'en Party
Court Constantine L1842
youth committee held a
Hallowe'en party on Friday
evening. October 29, at the
hall. About 90 children and
adults were present.
The evening opened with
the judging of costumes by
Frank and Mary Riley -and
Susan Jameison playing the
piano for them to parade to.
Winners for the best dressed
and most like Hallowe'en
were: Grade 4 -up. Larry
McClure and Bill Preszcator ;
Grades 2 and 3, Jane
Anderson and Gloria Sparks
Kindergarten and Grade 1.
Brad Milison and Crystal
Whyte; Pre -School, Paul
Jewitt and Kim Salverda.
Two films were shown,
"Jacky goes to the zoo" and
"Caterpillar" by J i m
Jameison, after which a
candy scramble was had for
all.
Lunch of hot dogs, freshie
and a candy treat was served.

Just ask
Annie!
Dear Annie:
I was bothered by your
response to a letter in a
recent paper, that was really
an ignorant way to answer
someone who really wanted
your advice.
You should really be
ashamed of yourself because
all your readers certainly
are. You are a disgrace to the
Central Huron Chronicle!
Disgusted
Dear Disgusted:
Of all the letters I've
received in response to my
three -week-old blunder.
yours is the most printable!
Thanks for straightening me
out without resorting to more
derogatory terms than
"ignorance" and "a
disgrace".
Believe me, reading all that
hate mail. I received my
lumps ; however in this
business, even a tornado can
have a silver lining (well.
maybe bronze: keep
reading ! )
Dear Annie,
I, am in grade ten and just
love you. I think you are
sweet and answer the
greatest questions and
problems -- please answer
this: will you marry me?
W.T.
Dear W.T.
Thanks (I needed that) but
no thanks!
