Another new business has
opened in Vanastra. Chilly
Willy Refrigeration, located
in the old Library building,
across from the theatre,
opened on June '1st.
The owners, George and
Carol MacIntire have lived in
Vanastra for four years and
the company sells and ser-
vices new and used ap-
pliances and all are welcome
to visit their showroom where
they feature new appliances
(which have minor
markings) as web as used
appliances.
Carol is planning to open a
beauty salon at this location
in the near future and will no
• doubt be advertising when
she has everything set up.
We wish George and Carol
every success in their
business.

Community notes
The Vanastra Community
Association is holding a
general meeting on Tuesday.
September 7th at 8 p.m. at the
Vanastra Recreation Centre.
All residents are urged to
attend.
• The Vanastra Super Chicks
had another victory on
Monday night when they
played Londesboro in
Vanastra. The three pitchers
were Lois Herman, Laurie
Deller and Connie Herman.
Brenda Goulding had a
double play and Esther
Handy was top hitter with a
home run and triple play. The
final score was 22 to 7 for the
Super Chicks. Special thanks
to Don Shrophall for being
umpire and Eric Gahwiler for
being bgeumpire.
The next etitne is, August 23
in Auburn and the Blast game
of the series 'before the
playoffs is August 30 against
Blyth at Vanastra.
Blyth and the Super Chicks
are tied for first place so this
final game should be a good
one. Be sure to come out and
support the Super Chicks.
Mr. Steve Kinsey from
Buckinghamshire, England is
spending a couple of weeks
with Mr. and Mrs. Ben
Bridges of 3 Halifax. Steve is
in Canada to further his dairy
farming education and we
welcome him to Vanastra and
wish him an enjoyable visit.
Library facilities are still
available at the Recreation
Centre every Friday af-
ternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Eight projects in Huron receive Wintario grants
Grants totalling $12.,118
have been approved for eight
more projects in Huron
County from the proceeds of
the Ontario Lottery. Amounts
range from $4,500 to $360.
The Walton Area Sports
Club is eligible for a grant of
$4,500 for renovations to its
athletic field.
The Township of Stanley is
eligible for a grant of $2,800 to
install floodlights, fencing
and bleachers for its ball
diamond near Varna.

R eereartion.: Parks and
Community Centre Board
and the Wingham Minor
Baseball Association will
receive grants of $812 and
$712 respectively to buy
ftball and baseball
equipment.
A $484 grant to the Goderich
Minor Soccer Association will
be used to buy uniforms,
trophies and equipment.
The Bayfield Yacht Club
will use a $450 grant to help
pay the cost of a radio
receiver and transmitter.
The Belmore Minor Softly -II
Association in Wroxeter will
use a S360 grant to buy sof-
tball equipment.
Culture and Recreation
Minister Robert Welch said
last week's grants are part of
the onjoing, Share Wintario
programme fbr the support of
cultural and recreational
activities.
