Ten cents to mai
First class letter rates will
increase from the present
eight cents to 10 cents on Sept.
1 this year and to 12 cents on
March 1, 1977, Postmaster
General Bryce Mackasey has
announced.
' The increases are
necessary to offset the in-
creasing cost of labor, fuel,
transportation and general
operating costs, spokesmen
for the Post Office say.
Second Class rates for most
newspapers, magazines and
other publications will in-
crease by 20 per cent as of
March I. 1977.

the young couple in a double -
ring ceremony, while Miss
Cheryl Jarvis, organist,
played traditional wedding
music.
The bride looked lovely in a
floor -length gown of ivory
polyester satin, fashioned
with a sweetheart neckline,
empire waistline and long full
sleeves. She wore a matching
picture hat and carried a
bouquet of miniature yellow
roses and white gladiolas.
For the reception which
followed at the home of the
bride's parents, the mother of
the bride received her guests
in tt long gown of mint green
polyester knit, ww,ite ac-
cessories and a corsage of
white roses. She was assisted
by the groom's mother, who
chose a long' gown of blue
floral jersey knit, white ac-
cessories and a corsage of
white carnations.
Following the wedding trip
to southern Ontario the
couple have taken up
residence in Ottawa.
Alan is a graduate of CHSS
in Clinton and University of
Waterloo. He is presently
employed with the Depart-
ment of National Defence in
Ottawa.

Spring tea at Huronview attracts
300 Ladies for baking and 'crafts
Red roses, pink tulips and
yellow daffodils adorned the
tables for the Spring Bazaar
and Tea held at Huronview
last Wednesday afternoon.
Over 300 ladies from
throughout the area attended
the social to taste the tea and
baking and to purchase the
numerous crafts and han-
diworks made by the
residents and the Ladies
Auxiliary.
Mrs. Colclough, president
of the auxiliary, had no
trouble keeping the 64 seats
filled or the tea Served and
was assisted by four ladies
who poured the t6a. She was
quite pleased to see the
turnout of people even though
a bus trip had been scheduled
the same day for some of the
residents of Huronview.
' The craft room was also
filled to capacity with han-
diwork and under . the
supervision of Mrs. Martha
McGregor many fine pieces
were made by the residents.
The Spring Tea has been an
annual event for the past 12
years and for the occasion,
the Ladies Auxiliary have
donated china tea cups -to
Huronview and have spent
many hours baking all the
delicious loaves and breads.
The proceeds from the tea
go to the residents and also

T' NDALL
Hilda Mary Tyndall of 96
Huron Street, Clidton died
suddenly, Wednesday. June 9
of a heart attack. She was 72.
Mrs. Tyndall was born in
September. 1903. in Goderich.
She was the daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. James C.
Fprbes, and resided in
Goderich and Hullett
Township until her marriage
to Norman Tyndall on June
17, 1924, in Londesboro. After
their marriage, the couple
lived on the London Road
until 1941 and • moved to
Clinton.
As a child. Mrs. Tyndall
attended the Summerhill
Union School. She was a
member of the Women's
Institute and assisted in 4-14
work. She also belonged to
various United Church
Women's organizations and
was a_ member of the Clinton
Horticultural Society. Mrs.
Tyndall attended the Ontario
Street United Church,
Clinton.
Surviving besides her
husband is one son, Arthur
James of Beaconsfield.
