Recreation news
At the July 30th meeting of
the Stanley Twp. Recreation
Board, plans were Made for a
fund-raising"d tee. This will be
held October 4th at Hully-Gully.
Proceeds will be for develop-
ment of Stanley Bali Park.
Many girls and boys of the
township are nearing the end of
a very active softball season. If
you've been to any of the games
or practices and have seen the
fun you'll know it was all
worthwhile.
Thanks to those dedicated
coaches, umpires and parents
whose efforts made the
program a success.
Anyone who attended the
Township Ball Game at HuIIy-
Gully Iast Sunday saw some of
the local plus 20's in action,
when the council, coaches,
umpires, and rec. committee
took on the "best" of the
township,
At the end of 10 innings- the
"better" team had tallied up 39
runs to the Council Team's 36
runs. Thanks to "Hully-Gully's
hospitality for this event.
For the next game, possibly a
bottle of liniment should be
added to the first-aid kit and a
needle and thread for sure!
The Slu finers staged a very excellent show at the CenteivJai
parade, entering many floats plus this band of musical
Arabs. (News.Record photo)
