memorial service is to be held
this Sunday, August 24 at 3 p.m.

Mrs. Alex McGregor of Kippen
to Sudbury, where they visited

Mr. William Hoy were in
Kitchener on Sunday owing to
the death of the former's only
sister Mrs. Elizabeth If. rapf.
Roderick Alexander (Rod)
Ferguson, S.F.A., son of Rey.
P.A. and Mrs. Ferguson of
Chesley, formerly of Hensall,
received his Bachelor of
Theology degree et McGill
University, Montreal on June
9th. Rod was the recipient of
five scholarships, including the
Birks Gold Medal, for highest
standing in his year. He was
also the recipient of the Alumni
Association Prize at the
Presbyterian College for
outstanding contribution to the
life of -the College. -
After a year of Professional
Training at Presbyterian
College he plans to enter the
ministry of the Presbytierian
Church in Canada, Rod spent
his early childhood in Henson
when his father was Minister of
Carmel Presbyterian Church
and his mother taught school in
the area.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hoy have
returned from their cottage at
Pt. Clarke, where they have
vacationed for the past six
weeks, Mrs. Hoy, spent one
week in July . wftfi her sister
Mrs. Ed Fink, who was a
patient in University Hospital,
London, and remained with
Mrs, Fink while she• con-
valesced at her home at Pt.
Clarke, RR 1,. Ripley.

holidaying at Silver Lake.
Mr. Jerry McClinchey
returned home on Saturday
from Winnipeg where he
successfully completed a seven
weeks' course at the University
of Manitoba.

returned from a holiday spent
in England.
Mrs. Eva Parker of Mitchell
visited this week with Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Parker.
35th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. •Clarence Reid
of Hensell celebrated their 35th
wedding anniversary at the
Pineridge Chalet, Hensall on
- Saturday evening. A family
dinner was enjoyed by 35
relatives and friends.
The table was centered with a
three-tier anniversary cake
and decorated with. red roses.

Mr. and Mrs. Reid were
married at the Hensall United
Church Manse August ' 17th,
1940 by Rev. Brooke. John Reid
of Henson was his brother's
best man and Mrs. Margaret
Wayne attended the bride. Mrs.
Wayne who lives in B.C. was
unable to attend.
Following the dinner, music
was provided by Joe Overholt
when dancing was enjoyed by a
large crowd of friends. ,
Donald Charles Grassick
Donald Charles Grassick
passed away at South Huron
Hospital on August 12th in his
88th year.. His wife the late
Nancy Isabel' Grant
predeceased him in 1968.
He is survived by a sister
Mrs. Ellen Walker with whom
he resided; two grandchildren,
Mark Jeffrey, Montreal. and
Miss Kathleen Jeffrey,
Willowdale; and one great-
,
reat-
grandchild. A datughter, rs,
Nancy ..,,fsabelt Jeff'r�e
predeceased in (1968).
Funeral service was held
from Bonthron Funeral Chapel
on Friday August 15th at 2 p.m.
conducted by Rev. Don Beck
with interment in Baird's
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Walter
Spencer, Erc Luther, Norman
Walker. Joe McLellan, Dr.
Allen Ferguson.
Mrs. Harriet
Cameron Henry
Mrs. Harriet Cameron
Henry., formerly of Henson,
passed away at St. Joseph's
Hospital. London on August
14th in her 93rd year.
She was the wife of the late
William Henry. A son, Dr.
Cameron Henry of Mensal'
survives, also three grand-
children. A daughter Mi s.
Margaret Hearne, predeceased
in 1973.

Huron County Coroner Dr.
Charles Wallace of Zurich has
announced that an inquest into
the August 2 death of Douglas.
Schilbe, west of Hensall, will be
held in September.
Schilbe, a Hayfield resident,
was run over by a motorist and
dragged almost 100 feet on
highway 8w t of I:Iens11.
Investigai ora from
the Exeter OPP detachment
said the motorist drove to
Zurich before reporting the
accident. He said the man was
lying, on the highway when he
was run over.
Police are continuing their•
investigation.

A Community shower was
held at St. James Anglican
Church Middleton Aug. 13 for
Doreen Steenstra - with
Blanche Deeves welcoming
every one.
The hall of the church was
nicety decorated with pink and
white streamers and lovely
flowers by Audrey Middleton.
Every one enjoyed a game of
guessing the articles in the box
with Barb Kilgour being the
winner - Marion Smith read a
humerous reading "How to
preserve a husband and Lois
Wise read a humorous reading
"Culinary Athletics."
Mrs. Fred Middleton gave
the address to Doreen and
Darlene and Debbie Smith
presented the bride her gifts
with mother of the groom, Mrs.
McConnell and sister of the
groom, . Maureen, Margaret
Steinstra and Mrs. Steenstra
assisting.
Doreen thanked everyone for
coming and for the Lovely gifts.
The ladies of the church served
a very nice lunch.
