K ippen youth jailed
on 56 fraud charges
A Kippen area youth pleaded
guilty and was sentenced to 280
days in jail on 58 charges of
fraud when he appeared in
provincial court in Goderich
Thursday.
Wayne Wesley Ward, 18, of
RR 2, Kippen alsopleaded
guilty and was sentenced, to
another 35 .days in jail on
-another seven charges.
The fraud charges involved'
the youth's use of a 'stolen
credit card at oil company
service stations between
Goderich, Blyth. Stratford and
London from Jan. 2, to Feb. 8.
Value of goods land gasoline
purchased with the credit card
totalled $908.94.
He was 'also sentenced toan
additional five days on each of
the other seven charges - two of
possession of stolen goods, one
of theft of the credit card, one of
theft of gasoline, one of
mischief: one bf dangerous
driving and one 'of failing to
stop at the scene of an accident.
The youth had faced a total of
70 charges. but seven others;,
ranging from driving while
disqualified, careless driving_
and speeding, were withdrawn.
