The June meeting of the ACW'
of.St. James Church Middleton
was held Thursday evening in
the church with Sarah Storey -in
charge, `
Lois Smith "read the
Invocation, Vera Miller read ,
the ,,Meditation and everyone
sang a hymn in unison with Lois
Wise at the organ. The Litany
and prayer were said inunison.
Rev. Youmatoff gave an
address and introdt}ced Jack
MacLareti of Benmiller, the
guest for the evening. Mr.
MacLaren had slides of the
Dumbbells, telling us how they
entertained the troops and how
they .made many of the
costumes.
These slides were very good
and, everyone did enjoy them.
Then' he put some of
Benmiller the old and • • - w,
telling us of many of th old
residents and ones who are still
there.
After seeing these slides
Sunday, Ed and I went to
Benmiller just to see the
changes and tor myself to 5.ee it
for the first time. It is aq
beautiful spot indeed.-
Sarah Storey presented Mr.
MacLaren ..with a gift and
thanked him for coniing. Mr.
and Mrs. MacLaren joined
everyone in the church hall for
tea, fruit bread, and cheese,
and everyone enjoyed a chat
with- the MacLarens while
having their lunch. A very good
evening indeed was enjoyed by
all.
