Well once again it's THAT TIME of the year when family and friends seem to find •the time to get together for either Christmas or New Year's Day. We seem to take this for gran- ted until the family starts to get scattered. This family certainly • realized this without Susan. She sends her wishes to all for Happy Holiday and the best for 1975. Banff is a beautiful spot • and much as -she hated' to leave she will be back in February. Colclough family add Elwin Merrill of Clinton, Ivan has left for a, holiday in Florida. The Jones family held their Christmas on the '26th at Alvin and Linda's. Lawrencess,family from Clinton, Lois, Ken Moore and family from Egmondville. Jim and Marion Snell and family and Jessie Jones of Lon- desborp also spent ' the day visiting - and snowmobiling. Alvin, Linda, Lana and David were at Linda's parents for the 25th. 26th. The John Tebbutt family had an early start on Christmas - dinners too when they had a meal on December, 18th. Their' daughter Pat, and her husband Paul Dockstader of Goderieh were leaving for the sunny south on the 20th so the family met to 'open their gifts. Irvine and Edith Tebbutt joined them for the occasion, The Mervyn Lobb family held their' family dinner at the -hantentiDtirrand—AllSotrAirihlr,wfamily at Belfast. On Boxing • Karen' and Dori Watson had three days of celebrating. On Tuesday 24th the Watsons were Diin's; on the„.25th Don and Karen and Carrie spent the day at Harry and Edna Oakes in Clinton; then on the 26th, they -speti e tidie with Herb and Faye es C)n. the 16th Con- cession. Herb and ,Faye Oakes spent Christmas Day with Faye's this year. Over the year we all tried to do our best. • The community held its first pork barbecue. A whole pig was roasted on a spit at the William Crawforid farm. Everyone brought some food to eat with the pig which Bill Lobb ° 'donated and there never was such a variety to fill the 90 or so people, *4, I, — Murray Forbes can be proud of one of his Holstein cows. Murmar Clipper Calista won 1st place 4 year old composite in the class for Huron County. She produced 22,316 lbs. of milk, 798 lbs. of fat for a B.C.A. in milk for 194 and fat 190. Marion Biggin was very proud of her*12 foot high sun- flowers. I never saw anything like them. If you can do as well next year Marion we will get a picture for sure. Bill 'Lob)) Was very pleased one night recently, when he was curling. His team in the mixed curling was Claudia Eastman, Bob McNaughton and Joyce . Hilderley. They were against Dr. Paul Brady of Seaforth and got quite, a thrill when they came up with a "7" ender. were at Hank and Beryl Gelling's home for their second Indoor soccer possihie th M nd Mrs Terry Hollinshead. and ,their ' •. . — two children, Sharon and Shane were present also. This . is their first Christmas with snow as they came to Canada from England this fall. On Boxing Day they went for their first toboggan ride. It was nice that they really saw a White Christmas. Jeanette and Irvine Martin • stayed over 'at Mervyn Lobb's for Boxing Day. 'Irvine. and Edith Tebbutt held Christmas on the 26th with Jack's, Gerry's and Marilyn's families. Gerry and Shirley, and Gregory and Wendy stayed over till Satur- , day. All of the R. E. Thompson family were home for, the Holiday. Steve from London, George frosn',London, Elizabeth from Burlington, and Marion from Guelph. Oi De6effiber 25th the Orville Workman family were at Thompson's and on the 26th the Aiken family and Mr. Herman of Clinton • spent the day. Present were Faye and Jamison Ribey, win Walter and Mr. Ribey Sr., Lois and Grant. Jones and daughter Chrystal, Ivan home •Unhappy with the six month lull between soccer seasons, a group of Clinton persons is at- tempting tp organize an indoor - 'soccer league for Huron County and part of Perth. Don Armstrong, the spokesman for the Clinton Soc- cer Club, said last week that already teams from Clinton, Goderich, Exeter, St. ..Colum - ban and Stratford have in- dicated interest' in an indoor league that would play weekly at the former Vanastra Arena, now known as Skateland. : Mr. Armstrong said that if 1 sufficient interest is shown at a ,meeting on January 8 between 7 and 9 p.m. at the Vanastra •, Arena, then a regular indoor league would be formed. 'He said that the indoor variety is played with a few variations, with only six men per side.
