Skin Affections Often,
Cause For Unhappiness
Are you ashamed of your appearance because
of a Akin rash, boils, pimples or ' other- skin affectionat
Too,few people realize that these affections may
be easily remedied. Impurities in the blood may
often be the cause for ugly skin affections.
EN get relief from skin troubles, boils and
ppimples; try Burdock Blood Bitters. Thin vegetable compound acts on
the bowels, kidneys, liver and °stomach: It helps to eliminate wastes from
the system. The 'result may be a smoother, clearer skin.

In Toronto it was the 'crowds and
the- grandchildren• and the shops that
engaged much of my attention. That
was a welcome experience' after living
for months at a rural corner where
there isn't even a gas station, where in
a radius +sof a quarter -mile there are
only five persons (there would have
been six, but one is • in jail.) Two of
the five are bachelors. , The wife and
I get along famously with our few
neighbors. We ate so glad to see one
another that we don't allow any critic-
isms or differences to mar our re-
lationships. Really, one can get along
with these' folk here better than with
the jostling crowd in Eaton'sand
Simpson's stores, where I was ' con-
tinually bumping into people, and they
and I saying, ,S`l beg your- pardon."
Good old Abe, one of the bachelors, says
when I talk about the bustle and the
rush of the city, "Shucks! I have no
use for it. Give me a fence to sit
on, and my pipe, (and it is a smelly,
very short -stemmed one, which I fear
will singe his nose at times or fire the
long hairs that nestle in his nostrils),
and 'you can have all the city for me.
This green field and this deep Lambton

do they get out of their fuss and rush?"

SOME DIFFICULTIES
IN NAMING VESSELS
tine of the most difficult tasks con-
fronting shipbuilders is the selection
names for new vessels. A name
which appeals to the . imagination of
the public can make considerable differ-
ence to trade when conditions again
become highly competitive.
Passenger line' officials make sure
that names are not associated with a
sea disaster. Hence, there will never,
be another passenger ship.' 'named
Lusitania, Athenia or Greenhill Park,
beeanSe of the tragic end of these
vessels. , ..
'While owners. Of freighters _are not
called `on` to^ consider • the whims.or
passengers, they have to contend 'with
superstitious seamen. -
Most companies try to name their
ships after the countries to which they
sail or after executives of the firm, na-
tional public; statesmen or 'well-known
ports of the world. -
When Western Canada Steamships
gas formed last year, ,every Province
in the Dominion received a letter ask-
ing Government heads to submit three
,names of lakes and a selection of
those most, typical of Canada was made.
Another source of ships' names is
the long rooster of heroes. The Am-
erican freighter Paul Dat'id Jones was
named after' a' mess- boy who lost his
life -while attempting to ..save the `cup

disappointing downpoursof rain that
make everybody blue. , The children's
parade was called off and the park
scene and parade had to be cancelled.
What took place to' make up for this
disappointment, for the thousands pf
young people I don't know. Many
never saw the Governor-General who
had looked forward to seeing this dis=
