Starting of with boat trips on the lake, the ,program included games and'races and a bountiful picnic supper. County Clerk 'Norman Miller and County Treasurer A. H. Erskine were on the committee in charge of arrange- ments. To Thomas Inglis, eighty-three year"s of age, warden of the county in 1929, went the ,prize for the oldest person present. This was presented to 'him by Warden R. Shaddick, of Hensall, who presided,.atthe supper tables. RonaldErnest Beecroft!; of East Wawanosh, seven -months -old grandson of J. D. Beecroft, reeve of East Wawa - nosh, was awarded the prize for the youngest child present. A tray went to Miss Elvera Churchill, of. Toronto, winner of the supper draw. Dr. J. W. He came to Canada •in November, 1940, and transferred to Western his credit toward a degree -from the University of London, Eng- land. By doing ti!aay duty and night duty he was able to drive to Western from Port Albert three times a week, to take' his course here. When moved to Mount Hope, he took Home evening classes at Toronto and McMaster Uni- versity. Mr. Nicholson returned to England in. 1944 to serve on the Continent in Belgium and Norway. Carroll, secre- tary -manager of the Ontario Plowmen's Association. - October 15, the first day, Is to be given over entirely to plowing events confined to Huron Bounty farmers; so the official ceremonies in which Lord Alexander will take part will be held on Wednesday, October p 16, the first day of open events. The International plowing match is being revived this year after having been suspended for the last five years on account of wartime conditions, and this year's event is being announced as "The Victory Match."
