Bowra reviewed the work of the war services committee which is now to - be discontinued. It was formed when the Ontario Federation sponsored "Layettes for Britain." The social convener, Mrs. Staniforth, Was congratulated on the line work done by the members of her' committee, and Mrs. Overholt, review secretary; expressed the wish that more of the members would subscribe to the Home and School magazine. The press secertary, Mrs. A. Taylor, paid tribute to the local paper for .the splendid publicity given to all Home and- ,School meetings. -.The treasurer, Mrs. R. Wilson, -re- ported' a balance on hand of $170.57, and moved 'that $25 be donated in answer to the appeal from the "Save the Children Fund." R. MacKay published in the local paper there,' with an accompany- ing 'note stating that Alex. MacKay attended Goderich High School in 1889 when Dr. Strang was principal. .The obituary is as follows : Dr. A. R. - MacKay of Bottineau passed away April 20, 1946., He- had been in poor health for the past two years, and at the_tiue of his death had been a patient in a St. Petersburg ( Florida y hospital for five days. Dr. MacKay was born in Dungannon,. Ontario, August 24, 1869, where his father, Dr. James MacKay, practised medicine for forty years.
