ations I let a contract for the cum
mentioned, and got it satisfactorily
completed, intending, as I now do,
to report the facts to this council.
I reduced its span to fourteen
feet, aud I believe, according to the
representations of some of the people,
near by, it might safely have been re-
duced still tether- These facts are
for your consideration. 'I received in
July a notification that the bridge at
Fisher's mill at Wingham was in bad
condition. 1 at once visited it, and
had some email repairs executed on
it. 1. regret to have to report that
this bridge is very considerably decay-
ed, and I do not feel that I can report
It as perfectly reliable and safe, and
will require to be rebuilt in the com-
ing season, Itis 210 feel long, but
can be shortened 60 feet. I had a
second tier of flooring of hemlock laid
thio. I repaired it in this manner,
as on examination, and obsurving one
heavy load go quietly over it, it 8ave
strong indicatious 1 f weakuees. 1
believe this bridge will require to be
rebuilt next season. After consider-
