and Mrs: Robt. Davidson.
Mr. and Mrs. Brogden McMath, of
Holmesville, were Sunday guests of 'Mr.
and'. Mrs. Geo. Meriwein.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin McAllister, Ken-
neth and Marlene, of Clinton, were
Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Robt.
McAllister.
Victoria Street softball team played at
Union on 'Thursday evening, winning by
27-9.
Sunday was Flower Sunday at Union. '
The pulpit was nicely decorated with
flowers. During the reception service,
• two new members • were received into the
church, and little Maureen Lovejoy
Davidson, baby daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Hugh Davidson, of London, was
baptized. The pastor, Rev. F. W. Craik,
delivered an interesting sermon from
-Daniel 6110. During the service a duet,
"The Beautiful Garden of Prayer," Was
sung by Misses Marion < Porter and
Esther McdIiwain.
Next Sunday. Mr. Craik will preach his
farewell sermon, prio- to moving to
1~eterboro. Sunday School at 2 p.m.,
preaching service at 3 p.rn. - _ .- •
The regular meeting of the Y. P. U,
will be held. in Union Church on Friday
evening. •
The Union Dramatic Club are having
a picnic, on the school grounds on Mon-
day evening, June 29th. A good pro-
gram of ' .'rices; sports and softball.

Miss Lena Colwell returned on Thurs-
day from the Goderich hospital after
her -recent' operation for appendicitis.

On Saturday afternoon S. S. No. 5.
Colborne, l.eld their annual picnic at
Point Farm. The' 'section 'was well re-
presented by old and young. A program
of races was run off and before lunch a
presentation was made to the teacher,
Miss Watkins, who isleaving after a
period of five years in the section. Miss
Winnifred Watson read the address and
Miss Marie Hoge made the presentation
of a toilet set of brush, comb and had
mirror. Mass 'Watkins thanked them
all. Miss' McDonald was present and
met the children and parents. The
people are all sorry to •lose Miss Watkins
frotn thLs section and wish her success
in her new school. They also welcome
