It is expected the -local lads will
make a good showing this season,
and some enthusiasts are" already
predicting that they will figure in
the group playoffs. Whether thik
hope is realized of 5not, it is the right
spirit in which to enter sport and the
local club should have the whole-
hearted support of the public in their
efforts to build up a junior • team
that will be a credit to the town.
The opening game tomorrow
night should attract a good,. sized
crowd td cheer the local youngsters
to victory, and at the same time,
strengthen the hands ' of the execu-
tive by their patronage. It must be
remembered that sport cannot be
conducted. without the funds neces-
sary for equipment, * traveling and
w other_iegitimate axpensesr._anc --that
liberal support by the public means
a great • deal to any, enterprise.

at $3.20 per cord; Isaac Outlay. the
sweeping,' lighting fines, scrubbing,

able for the team..
The youngsters have .weight, speed
and stick handling ability, and it is
expected they will make a great
•sho-wing this season.
On Friday night, St. Mary's will be
here for the opening of the local "sea-
son, and_th+is promises to be a a
game,
It is up to the •fans to give the
team Loyal support •by attending the
home games, so plan to see the open-
ing game Friday night.
There are seven teams in this
group -Clinton, Mitdhc;ll, Seaforth,
Stratford, St. Mary's, Milverton and
Goderich.

RUN OF HARD 'LUCK
"Lady Lu_k" seems to ,have deserted
Kincardine as far . as . hockey goes.
First they lost -thair goalie, Mel Riggins,
when he accidently broke 'hisak,le and
now they may not even have a rink to
play in. The weight of snow caused
the rink to cave in: and .it may not, be
repaired for use this winter.

on Thursday evening, laid over for

Owners Association have by resolu-
tion- petitioned the government of
the -Province of Ontario, and the
Hydro Electric Power Commission^ of
Ontario, urging them to intercede on
behalf of the citizens and the Hydro
consumers of their community to
correct the apparent inequalities
which have arisen through the pass-

Mr. Peter Baechler addressed the
Commission with regard to a propo-
sition to canvass the town. to repair
leaking water taps, Mr. Baechler
asked the assistance of the commis-
sion. That body decided that they
could `not gid the -requested _ _ assis-
tance but stated that they would be
willing to co-operate with Mr. Baech-
ler. They explained that the matter
was a business proposition and that
they were not at liberty to take any
action " in the venture.
Mr. Howard MdNee's application
for a range service was .passed as
well as a number of accounts and
lighting services.

of Mr. and Mrs. Basil Laws, of Gode-
rich: The little fellow was born at 7
p m. on New Year's Day, at Alexan-
