From The Camrose (Alberta) Cana-

A. Oassady, a brother of Mrs. Wen.
McKnight orINilte .and husband of the
former Miss 'Myrtle" McPhee, daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Mc-
Phee of Colborne tdwnship :
Death claimed a prominent and
highly -respected -citizen. ' of Ca'mrose
early Friday morn ag in the person of
Joseph Abner C,assady.. I't had ken
generally 'known that Mr. C,assady had
not been in good health for the past
fire or six years but very few persons
were aware his condition ,had become
serious.
• Word corning from Edmoteton that he
had lived only ;a" few hours follbwing .
a major_ operation, was almost alto-
gether unexpected and .has caused
widespread regret and much sympathy
for Mrs.' Oarmady and the children,
Harry, Melbourne and Oliftoed, and
Bernice, Doris and -Zorn.. 'His parents,
'Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Cassadyy, and Qrroth-
er Roy, reside at Tawatinaw, 'Alberta,
and a sister, 31a -s; Whm. McKnight, re-
sides near Port Albert, Ontario. M•rs.'
Casady before her marriage was Miss
,M'yrtlte McPhee 'of Goderich.
Mr. C'assady was born at Byron, On-
tario, on March 4, 1880. He came to
Wsiern' Canada in the spring of 1912 '
and was engaged In the G. T. P. shops
at Calder. - He was a mafhinist there
for two years, shop foreman for two
years and assistant locomotive foreman
for two years.
Desiring to go into business for him-
self, Mr. Cassad-y found an opening at
Cuarrhrose• and establitthed "The Oamrose
Engineering and Machine Shop:" ` A
capable and conscientious workman,
Mr. Cassady served hudreds of farm-
ers and others over a long period of
years. 'H'e was an indefatigable worker
and.in busy seasons did everything pos-
sible to meet the demands of those who
required his services. -
Outside of his bushiest, interests, his
time was devoted chiefly to the work
of the church. He. had been tretary
of Canarose 'United church - Sunday
school for fifteep years and was also
a member of the church aession. One
of the most generous contributors to
lire' Crutch, Mr. Ortssady also gave
freeiy of his time. 'lite was a member
,of the Town Council for a period of
eight' years and had also •been a mem-
