Can you may- be give me a hint why they say that" My Grandmas always says that. When it's Christmas eve we sleep over there. Is it a short form for Christmas or is it an old word pele know? People in France say Noel. In French it means Christ- mas. We have Advent calendars at school and I'm saving mine for Christmas day. Some of my friends are too. The calendar is a count- down to Christmas. Everyday we can open a new door with a choco- late behind it. I like Christmas a lot even though I don't know why some people call it Xmas. Tiffany The Miracle Christmas By Nicole Dann Biddulph Central , Grade 5 Once upon a time in a small vil- lage there were children who wished for a beautiful Christmas because they were poor which was sad! They lived in a shack a bit out- side of Lucan. They didn't have a lot of money to buy gifts for each other. One day Bobby was walking downtown Main St. He went by the Home Hardware and saw all of the beautiful gifts he just wished. The next day he took his sisters and brothers downtown to see the gifts. They were beautiful! Then Ceila found a bag. The bag was full of money! The children tried to find the owner but they couldn't find the owner so they kept it and bought lots of gifts and a Christmas tree and food, lots of food. They fixed up 'the shack by decorating it with lots of holly and many more Christ- mas stuff! By the next day it was all ready for Christmas. It was a miracle! But was the best Christ- mas ever! Daniel Frosty By Victoria Grigg Lucan Public School Frosty was a grown-up snowman. He loved to play, dance and to run in the snow. His favourite thing was to play with the children at school. Every recess the children ran outside quickly to find Frosty. He was always waiting for them. One day the children came out- side and Frosty wasn't there. They were really upset! They looked eve- rywhere, but they couldn't find him. Frosty had found the arena. It was so nice and cold that he could play on the ice. Frosty slipped and fell and hurt himself. He decided he was safer at school. All the children were waiting. They were happy to see him again. They asked him never to leave them again. Christmas Carol By Shannon Cook Grade 5, E.P.S.
